So I just noticed my feet are looking a bit puffy.... Any suggestions on how I combine keeping active (I am being induced on Tuesday, so am keen for DC3 to appear before then), with the advice to put my feet up?

I find the only way is just putting feet up and hubby giving me a foot massage really helps, not really much works for me :( I'm 38 weeks only just started to swell so frustrating as I thought I'd got away with it lol

I have had a swollen foot (just the one... very strange) since I was 20 weeks. The only thing that brings the swelling down is sitting with it up. Apparently flight socks can be good for when you're walking around but I've yet to get some. I just grin and bear it until the evening when I can sit and relax.

If this has come on suddenly- please also let your midwife know. It may very well not be, but sometimes puffiness is a sign of pre-eclampsia, so just be cautious too! Hope dc3 comes along soon!

I've had same problem for a couple of weeks. In the end I just decided to keep on doing what exercise I can (which I literally about a 10min walk per day but it's enough to make me feel human) and put my feet up as much as possible the rest of the time.

Thanks everyone. Think I will try to carry on as normal unless for the last 2 days unless it gets much worse.

rumple - thanks for the warning about pre-eclampsia - it's only slight puffiness atm (I could see where my slippers had been when I took them off last night!), but will be mindful of other symptoms.

gemma - only one swollen foot?! How strange!
