I'm 33 weeks pregnant, and last night i woke up needing the toilet

i stood up and couldn't control it, it started to come out, the more i walked (to the bathroom), the more came out. Ended up all over the carpet and bathroom floor.

Feel so embarrassed! I had stress incontinence after ds1, but just through coughing/ sneezing exercise.

petrified this will happen when I'm out now!

It smelt of urine, so it's not my waters... Although it gushed out like them :-(

Don't worry this happened to me once. Pretty much exactly how you described when ds was about 4 mo. I was mortified.

I expect it to happen again when i'm heavily pregnant. Especially since i need to wee loads in the night this pregnancy.

Have you been doing your pelvic floor exercises?

Tiptop32 · 03/04/2014 09:16

Oh no that's mortifying..... I feel your pain. Maybe it was just how baba was lying and s/he gave u an almighty kick to your bladder? Might be worth checking with your midwife/gp that u don't have a uti too.... Oh and.

I have stress incontinence to, before I become pregnant I was using these cones called aquaflex and they started strengthening...but you can't use while pregnant so my muscles have weakened again, I had accidents in front of my partner the other week...he tripped down a curb...I laughed...then wet myselfShock Shock so embarrassing!!! So now I have had to get some incontinence pads and try and remember to do my pelvic floors!!! x

I wear pads all the time as i have a bad cough and leak.
I've been to physio and nothing works, need an op but they wont do it until I've finished my family.

i haven't been doing pelvic floors to be honest, as i was doing them religiously and with probes / cones etc etc at physio with no improvement :-(

can't believe how much came out! Id woken up twice previously to empty my bladder too!

oh no :(

don't be afraid to wear something with a little extra protection maybe tena pants? if you're worried... im already contemplating wearing something in bed as I can't keep getting up 10 times a night!
it may never happen to you again but I'd want to be on the safe side myself!

Glad it's not just me that is up and down like a yo yo in the night for toilet trips. I never had this with my first pregnancy!! I think my husband is one more night from banishing me to the spare room :(

Cheffie100 · 03/04/2014 16:14

It's ok I wet the bed at 8 and a half months- not my most glamorous moment

FelixFelix · 03/04/2014 16:16

Yep happened to me too. I fondly remember being sick then pee squirting out of the other end simultaneously!

Kri5ty · 03/04/2014 17:34

Ahhh the good old sick and pee... Yup been there lots this pregnancy!

just never literally my whole bladder contents gushing out!

Thanks girls, glad I'm not the only one!

I might get some pants, rather than pads... How embarrassing though!!
