Gargle with soluble paracetamol ?

goodmum123 · 22/03/2014 16:59

Great idea, I can never seem to find them though. Can I get them at tesco type places?

Warm saltwater gargle.

thedrunkenduck · 22/03/2014 19:17

Have you tried hot lemon water with a little honey? Works for me.

didireallysaythat · 22/03/2014 20:58

Yes I think tesco should - I'd ask at the counter. They taste vial but you can make up in orange squash if that helps. I think paracetamol us about all that you're allowed when pregnant without asking a grown up..

Hope you feel better.

I always find Chloraseptic brilliant, but I don't know if you can use it when pregnant.

Hope you feel better soon. Smile

Lockers are the only lozenges that you can take whilst pregnant. The others are advised against.

babybear2468 · 22/03/2014 22:28

*lockets

I'm sure strepsils are ok when pregnant (obviously it'll say on packet though)

Ememem84 · 22/03/2014 23:18

Gargle with hot salt water. Or hot water with cloves.

Honey and lemon.

Pineapple and yoghurt will sooth.

goodasitgets · 22/03/2014 23:19

Anything sucky (!) like normal boiled sweets are good, plenty of fluids and hot drinks

Ememem84 · 22/03/2014 23:19

Am not pregnant but get a LOT of sore throats so need to deal without always resulting to the medicine cabinet.

Feel better x

FossilMum · 22/03/2014 23:21

Gargling with Oraldene.

weebigmamma · 23/03/2014 04:00

Take paracetamol!

For a sore throat or cough the best thing to take is glycerin and blackcurrent linctus. My sister is a pharmacist and have it to me so I trust her word a 100%. This doesn't contain anything that is harmful to baby and it definitely helps. I'm very stubborn when it comes to taking things while pregnant lol the only thing I will have is gaviscon for major bad heartburn and have had the linctus before when had a really bad throat, hope this helps x

Thank you all. I also made my own remedy in the middle of night when I had to trick myself into thinking I was having a black currant lemsip. I made hot ribena. It worked a treat on the coughing and soreness x
