Large cup maternity swimwear - does it exist?

I'm normally a GG cup so always buy bra sized swimwear. I'm 16 weeks and have already gone up a couple of cup sizes but don't yet have a big enough bump to need maternity. I'd imagine I'd fall out of conventional maternity swimwear but haven't tried any yet. Does anyone have any experiences/suggestions to share?

Hello congrats on your pregnancy! I'm now 7 months pregnant with my first. Have had EXACTLY this dilemma. I haven't to be fair "shopped" for mat swim wear, just got loaned/given a mat swim costume and a giant tankini by a friend. Due to my 38GGs I would fall out of either of these items (even though the rest fits) however I have an old/quite stretchy underwired bikini top I bought in 2006 (!) that is a 38F but still fits ok and I wear it under the Mat swim wear. So I would advise just getting a bra-sized bikini top in a style you like then wearing mat swimwear over it.

It's so annoying, isn't it? 3rd pregnancy and still no joy in finding one

I think I'd be safer in one if my existing bikini tops so I can see the sense in layering. Thanks for the tip!

I'm an h cup normally but have been fine in a normal mothercare size 12 swimming costume. It is not too low cut over the cleavage so no danger of falling out. But it is not very supportive, I probably wouldn't go for a jog in it!

I couldn't find any. I have an Anita one that just about covered me up to 24 weeks. Not sure how secure I would feel in it now. I asked bravissimo if they could consider stocking something. They acknowledged it was a gap in the market and I Think the more people who ask the more likely they are to get something.

I found fig leaves maternity swimwear good, am a 32ff normally and went up to 36g and gad no probs with there swim wear as beela said probably wouldn't have gone jogging but they were well and truly contained! :)

I'll check out figleaves. I'll also email bravissimo and whine a bit, nothing'll change in time for me, but it might help future women.

The problem is that I need underwired bras and swimwear. I wear well-fitting underwired bras throughout pregnancy and wear my normal bikinis throughout pregnancy on holiday with a loose cover up if I feel I need tummy coverage. I love swimming when pregnant but a bikini isn't really appropriate at the local pool - particularly with a swollen, stretchmarked belly hanging out! - but there are no underwired maternity swimsuits. And I hate feeling even more fat and whale like when already conscious of my big Lycra clad bump. An underwired maternity swimsuit with decent coverage (size 34H) would make a huge difference to my confidence and comfort and probably make me more inclined to go to the pool!!

Everton- totally know where you're coming from with underwire! I couldn't find that either but the next best thing I found was a halter neck tankini ( they also did a swimsuit iirc) it wasn't as good but it wasn't far off I def felt reasonable supported and contained HTH :)

So I did email Bravissimo and the answer was not at all positive. If you have big boobs and you get pregnant, you're on your own. Anyone fancy starting up a very niche swimwear company?!

They said:

"I'm so sorry that we do not stock maternity swimwear and for the disappointment this must cause you. Unfortunately we have no current plans to expand our range of styles to cater for maternity swimwear at present and I realise this will be disappointing for you.

Because we already cater for such a specific and specialised market, small to average back sizes 28-40, accompanied with larger cup sizes D-L, we want to keep our range focused on this as much as possible. We feel that if we were to try and include other very specialist areas, like maternity, we risk spreading ourselves too thinly, and because of our commitment to improving the selection of underwired lingerie for women with bigger boobs, we would not really be able to give another area our full attention at this time.

We really welcome ideas from our customers and love hearing any requests for future styles. We always record and monitor customer feedback at Bravissimo so I will definitely ensure that your request for a maternity swimwear range is put forward. Having said this, we currently have no plans to include maternity swimwear in our range and I'm sorry to say it is very unlikely we will in the near future.

I'm so sorry I couldn’t bring you more positive news on this. I do know of a few websites which specialise in maternity clothes and swimwear, and I hope you may be able to find something suitable from one of these companies.
