Please don't judge me, but I've never claimed a benefit so have no idea where to start.

I'm 38 weeks pg so am trying to get prepared before bubs arrives. just wondering what financial benefits I will be entitled to, and what do I need to do once baby is born? I know I need to notify my local council & doctors of my baby's birth but anyone else?

People can't tell you what benefits you are entitled to as they don't know your circumstances. You could try this site:

www.gov.uk/benefits-adviser

I don't know much about it other than the forms you need to claim child benefit are in the bag the dreaded Bounty Lady will give you in the post natal ward.

Hope you have a lovely birth!

Or at www.hmrc.gov.uk/childbenefit/

it will depend on how much you earn as to what benefits you will be able to claim.
