Argh!!!!

DS is just 2 years old and feeling really poorly with a heavy cold. Crying, just wants to be held, won't let me sit down and hold him, wants me to stand up.

I'm 37 weeks pregnant and was really hoping to have a bit of a rest on maternity leave before the arrival of DC2.

DH was poorly with some sort of virus last week so is helping loads but is still feeling quite wiped out himself.

I'm so tired and fed up Sad

Rant over. Any words of comfort?

Poor you.

As for making you stand...you need to sort that out. Believe me, I did not and now I have two 6ft males ordering me about.

Rest....you hand over all chance of that when you embark on the roller coaster of motherhood.

This shall pass, well into more late night awake time when the baby comes. Sorry.

Oh no - lots of sympathy to you. My (now 3 year old) dd went through that stage of only wanting me to hold her standing up and I ended up just saying to her that she had 2 choices - I could hold her and sit down or no cuddle - up to her. Please put your foot down for your own sanity!

It's horrible when they're ill at the best of times and worse when you're pregnant. I'm 39 weeks tomorrow and my dd has become incredibly clingy and demanding - she's not ill but she knows what's going on and, I think senses the tension. My dh has also just been ill, so not as much support as I would have liked last week (better now he's better though).

Try to get some rest - even if it's you and your ds slumped on the sofa watching CBeebies... sending a hug.

I hear you..poorly 15month old here, and I'm 28 weeks and huge. Struggling to bend over, struggling to pick her up, struggling to do nappy changes.

Thanks for the sympathy. Very much appreciated.

You're right, I've put my foot down today on the whole standing up thing. It hasn't gone down well (as I'm sure you can imagine!) but I feel better today for having sat on my arse a bit more!

I love my DS dearly but he's 2… he doesn't get to choose what I do! Good work on putting your foot down, your DS will have bigger issues than Mummy sitting on her num to deal with when your next DC appears anyway!

Cake for you…
