does anyone else's cat sense the baby?

weird question i know, but one of my cats seems very sensitive to my pregnancy.

when i was pregnant with DS1 2 years ago the cat spent 9 months more or less attached to my bump. he just wanted to curl up on my lap next to it, or lie over it all the time.

the cat is usually quite aloof, and doesn't normally do cuddles, but a few weeks ago he started being really clingy again, and sure enough i then found out i was pregnant again.

is this really unusual or do other people's pets behave in a similar way.

my cat stopped sitting on me when i fell preg with ds1. then HV visited the week before i had him and Tipsy (she has only 3 legs therefore will always be legless )draped herself over my bump staring the HV out!!!

When I first read the thread title I didn't realise it was about pregnacies and was about to say 'yes, my cat hears the toddler & runs a mile'.

Sad to say neither of mine showed any discernable interest in bump or babies. Only getting interested in 5 year old now they realise he can open the cat food cupboard & get the cans out.

Before I was pregnant with DS my cat would sit on my lap or my husband's - she wasn't fussy. But when I got pregnant she would only sit on my lap.

blimey, i said just this when i was pg with ds and everyone laughed at me, i'm sure they can tell.

Oh thank goodness I found this thread. With my last pregnancy 2 years ago and now with this one my cat literaly sits and stares at me for ages and ages. Normaly he doesnt take alot of notice of me except at feed times but since being pregnant he does this. It realy freaks me out. My dh thinks its realy funny.
