Help...
I'm probably being paranoid but I definitely felt baby move at 16 wks for a few days. Very prominently .
And then nothing since !!
I'm 18 wks now. Should I be worried?

I'm also panicking as I've had no pregnancy symptoms ... No sickness , not put on any weight yet, not showing ....

It's my 1st baby so I really don't know what's normal and what's not

Please help. I'm starting to freak out ...

Watching with interest as I'm sure I felt something at 16/17 weeks and now 19 and not felt anything.

Again first baby so not really sure what's going on!

I had this too. At that stage of pregnancy it is really hit a and miss and can really depend on the position if the baby as kicks are too gentle to feel in some positions. It also depends on the position of the placenta. Hopefully you are just one of the lucky ones with no symptoms. Good luck.

I'm sure it's fine. Try not to worry. The 20 week scan will put your mind at rest, I'd say.

PenguinsDontEatKale · 02/02/2014 12:07

No, nothing to worry about. You may have felt something at 16 weeks. It is very unusual, but you may have.

However at that stage you are talking about a very tiny baby with lots of space. It could shift position slightly and you not feel anything else for weeks more.

There seem to be a million threads on this at the moment and I'm starting to wonder who it is out there putting the fear of god into women. Anything pre-20/22 weeks is totally and utterly normal (and later can be utterly normal too) and earlier movements can be particularly sporadic.

With my first dd I felt her move once at around 16 weeks, and I only felt it as I was laying completely still with my legs up on the sofa, I then never felt anything til about 21 weeks, I think it was just luck that I felt her so early. I am currently pregnant with dd2 and am 16 weeks and just starting to feel small flutters, which I didn't feel so early on with my first, its completely normal so please please don't worry :) xx

Thank u everyone for your reassuring messages! I'll try relax now and just enjoy....
Although I am considering buying a Doppler from Amazon ... My husband thinks I'm crazy though.
Do they work?

Xx

You don't need to worry about not feeling regular movement until at least 24 weeks so try not to worry. I was in the same situation.
Now I'm 30 weeks with a big baby, who's currently breech and kicking the living hell out of my innards all day long!

pinkbunny2012 · 02/02/2014 12:49

I personally wouldn't buy a Doppler as I know what im like and I would drive myself mad keep listening, and if one day the heartbeat sounded different, fainter, stronger faster etc I would be panicking, but that's just me! just try and relax and before long u will be feeling elbows and feet moving around all the time :)

Christelle2207 · 02/02/2014 13:18

I felt something at 15 weeks then nothing till 20+.....However I had a hosp appt at 16 weeks and heard heartbeat so that reassured me. I had anterior placenta which means placenta in front of baby and cushions the kicks- nothing to worry about, and very common. I would not get a doppler because you may get yourself in a panic if you cant find the hb one day- it took my mw ages to find mine once and that was quite late on

PenguinsDontEatKale · 02/02/2014 15:18

I wouldn't buy a Doppler, and there have been a few threads recently about why. But in a nutshell they may panic you when there is no need, and there have been a few tragic cases where they have given reassurance where there is a real problem that needs medical help.
