Position of baby from movement

Can/did you tell what position your baby was in from their movements? I feel like there is something round sticking out the top so either head or bum, then I get wriggly movements at the bottom and any kicking or rather thuds are at the bottom of my bump. I don't get a lot of movement at the top only pressure or pushing type feelings Also when baby has hiccups (which is a lot) I feel them down in the bottom of my bump which makes me think that must be where the chest is so possibly head down?

I've got a growth scan next week so I'll find out for sure then. I'm just curious now as I feel baby has settled into this position and has stayed this way for about 2 weeks now. If baby is breech I want to start encouraging them to move because I really would like a home birth this time. :)

If you are feeling hiccups at the bottom the baby is head down I'd say.

The hard bit at the top could be its pelvis and that is what you see / feel shift.

I'm 32 weeks and had a growth scan today. My baby is head down with his back and legs curled around underneath my rib cage and his arms are poking out towards the left hand side of my abdomen. When he has a wriggle around my whole bump moves and the sensations are so sharp and forceful. It makes me grimace!!!

That's what I'm thinking too that baby must be head down because of where I feel the hiccups. I think this baby must be similar to your Writer with the legs curled right over.

I've had two head down babies before so at least I know my uterus is the right shape to encourage baby to be the right way round.

I was just curious what the movements of a breech baby would feel like.

My movements and hiccups feel exactly the same as yours OP!

My last two midwife appointments she's not been able to confidently tell the difference between bum or head at the top but hasn't really been bothered as it's been too early to start worrying about position.

I have my 34 week appt next week - really hope it's a definite head down now!

This one was breech for a while. My last was always head down so I hadn't experienced it before.

The top of the bump was very hard and heavy but more telling was how empty and soft it felt at the bottom. I also felt very sick and breathless every time I bent over because the head was pressing so hard on my stomach.

I feel empty on the left side at the top mostly and feel something round sticking out at the top on the right side. I'm not getting that breathless or even much heartburn so far this time so it's all sounding like baby might be the right way round. Keeping my fingers crossed. I know at 32 weeks they can still change position but I just feel like baby has settled now.
