Hi all, i have been suffering from swollen feetsince becoming pregnant now 34+1 and its now becoming very uncomfortable there is literally a crease between my ankle and foot md its hars to bend them. Due to what i think is spd i have been off work and resting with my feet up but my ankles and feet r always swollen.

Has anyone else experienced it this bad? Or have any ideas how i can reduce it?

I had massive feet/ankle combi last pregnancy and it was bloody awful. Also had spd which meant I was pretty much immobile for the last 5 weeks. Mw advised foot exercises and support tights. Other than that as long as you bp and urine tests are clear it's just another one of these joys of pregnancy. It will go back to normal after baby is born, might take a couple of months though. Sorry I don't have better news.

Thanks notfast, i suspected as much but remained hopeful lol. I also think i have spd and have been off work with feet up but two mins of standing and they balloon. I might look at support tights a socks r not doing me any favours at all lol

Oh i can sympathise. My feet swelled up at 32 wks. I'm 40 weeks today. At first my feet would go down if I kept putting them up.

For about the last 3 wks nothing works to bring the swelling down. My feet & legs are actually very painful now. They are hard up to my knees. But my BP is fine. Urine clear. No swelling in my hands or face.

Support stocking, elevation & rest. I exercise my feet & drink loads of water...It doesn't seem to do much but can't hurt!

Good luck.

Thanks Shelly thats the same as me its quite worrying tho feeling how hard my legs r. At first the swelling went down when feet up or overnight but not now
Will try the support stockings.
Sorry your going through this too but pleased to know its not just me and nothing to worry about Smile

Lower leg and foot massage can also help to ease it slightly - just normal moisturiser is fine for it but fairly hard pressure massage can help to drain the fluid slightly.

Mine have got to the stage of actually weeping fluid through holes (don't know how else to describe it it) in the back of my legs. Nothing can be done apparently....... Sad
