Hi im preggers with my first had dating scan which was ok and came in at 44.7cm = 11+1 wks. I wanted a NT but they could get right position for it. Reading some peoples experiences on here, some were asked to walk, bend, jump, cough to change baby position. I wasn't, nor was I offered a second scan to measure this. I had no bloods or anything done. But they mentioned the quad test at 16weeks. Is this right or do I question this? to me, Its important to know the results of this NT. I am thinking of going private........ Thanks.

I had to have a second scan for the same reason. You need to have a scan before 13+4 (I think) for the NT measurement. Could you try ringing and speaking to antenatal reception? I didn't find the lady who did the scan very forthcoming but reception staff happy to help. They might not book without a referral but perhaps they could get a MW to take a second look?

I'm very surprised they didn't make more of an effort to do the tests especially if you'd made it clear it was important to you. I had no problems with either of the scans on my babies so have no personal experience but do know of others who were sent for walks/drinks etc to make baby turn. Also booked for another scan if necessary. I would speak to your midwife/doctor if I was you.

Doesn't sound too bad to me.

I wanted same thing on my dating scan but baby in wrong position. Although the stenographer did get me to giggle about a few times (i think that's more of a try it and see, rather than a sure method) but it didn't work, so he said not much we can do and told me about the blood tests at 16 weeks same as you.

I've had the blood tests now and they were fine, you either get called with the news if you need more tests and if not they send you a letter.

xx

In my area they don't do NT measurement, just quad test.

You get a letter following the quad test about whether you're high or low risk and what to do next.

It's just a blood test.
