Sounds like a minor anal fissure - are you constipated/straining at all? Can happen, with a second child especially as the muscles between vagina/rectum may be weakened by childbirth. Mention it to your GP.

I strain sometimes not always and its my first baby xx

See your GP tomorrow, and ask? But don't worry, if it's bright blood then it's probably a very small fissure (tear). It'll heal soon enough. Scary though, isn't it? Smile

KathrynAndSteve · 26/01/2014 09:06

yeah its just like the same blood you get when you cut yourself and yes I was there for like half an hour lol xx

It's common to het constipated in early pregnancy. It's the hormones slowing your digestion down (someone cleverer will fill in details)! Recommend increased consumption of fruit and veg, drink plenty of water and the magic ingredient PRUNE JUICE! You don't need too much but it works wonders.

KathrynAndSteve · 26/01/2014 09:10

Okay thank you xx

its not constipation because I can go all the time so could it just be a tear? xx

The hormones make the blood vessels go closer to the surface, so any straining or wiping can start them

In my case I just had an enormous poo and then panicked alot Blush but the midwives were lovely and assured me I was not about to deliver through my anus Grin

was absolutely crapping myself I thought something serious was going on until I wiped the front and nothing was coming out of there lol xxxx

I have a fissure...ouch. Do not leave it as it can get incredibly painful. One word... lactulose!

KathrynAndSteve · 26/01/2014 09:30

its not painful though :/ xx

Yeah, it first happened to me when I was pregnant with my first. I thought I was miscarrying, then that I had bowel cancer! But it's really common, it seems.

Pregnancy's all glamour, innit? Grin

It didn't hurt the first time. But see your GP as there's a cream they can give to relax the muscles around your butt-hole. Trust me, a healing cut there makes everything clench up automatically when you try to poo, and that can make it re-tear, which hurts a LOT. And itches when it heals, to add to the love.

It's worse in my second pregnancy at the very end (8 months now) because all the weight pressing down, extra blood in the area, and less solid pelvic floor. But it's an annoyance, nothing more.

Proudmummytodc2 · 26/01/2014 11:37

It could alsobe piles very common in pregnancy and once you've been to the toilet it can irritate them and make them bleed? X

perfectstorm · 26/01/2014 13:25

Oops, yes forgot the joys of piles (one of the few things I've managed to escape... sitting here with acid reflux and heartburn as I type!)

Like I say, pregnancy is such a romantic and glamorous time. I'm just on tenterhooks till my mucus plug makes an appearance. Grin

Tear or a hemorroid (spl?)/piles, would be my guess.
