Cleaning out hamsters/budgie

I have 2 hamsters and a budgie, is it ok to clean their cages our! I know about the cat poo thing, but wasn't sure about other animals like budgie/ hamsters????

Pop on some marigolds and be sure to give your hands and arms a good hot soapy wash once you're done. I cleaned out my rabbits, fish and lizard to no ill effect.

I'm sure it will be fine, as above gloves & wash. I'm still picking up dog poo, cat poo etc, just wash your hands afterwards.

I clean out the guinea pigs and empty the cat litter tray. I make sure I give my hands a good wash afterwards and I also have some disposable gloves.

I told OH I couldn't do rabbits (total fib) so he has been cleaning them out for months ;)
