I'm having a boy and have had none of that. I wouldn't even know I was pregnant if it wasn't for the fact it appears I have a football up my top!

Waggamamma · 23/01/2014 19:51

My first pregnancy was a dream, no sickness/nausea, exhaustion or cravings, tiny bump until 38 weeks. I had a 9lb boy.
This pregnancy has been rough going with naseua and total exhaustion and I'm only seven weeks so no idea if boy or girl.

phantomhairpuller · 23/01/2014 19:56

My first pregnancy was horrendous- terrible sickness, extreme tiredness, SPD, the works! I had a boy.
My second pregnancy was a dream. Te complete opposite to 1st pregnancy. I had another boy. Grin

Wanted to children but it's totally freaked me out about being pregnant again lol

Mummytobe2014 · 23/01/2014 20:38

This is my first pregnancy carrying a boy. No morning sickness but some gagging, very swollen feet and ankles throughout, headachea early on and jst in last few weeks what i think is spd oh and tiredness throughout but overall its been a good pregnancy. My sil had very bad sickness thru whole pregnancies and had girls. Smile

ImBrian · 23/01/2014 20:39

All 4 pregnancies different, varied from no morning sickness to chucking up twice a day and they are all girls :)

Rosieliveson · 23/01/2014 20:43

I was sick every single day for the 9 months I was carrying my DS!

ThedementedPenguin · 23/01/2014 20:47

I'm the opposite. First pregnancy was a dream, no issues whatsoever. No sickness, no BP problems, nothing. I had a boy.

I'm nearly 30 weeks this time and having a girl and it's been awful. Can't sleep, sickness all the time. It's been very tough. Can't wait for it to be over with and have my girl in my arms.

TKKW · 23/01/2014 20:55

I feel much more tired and had more nausea (up until 17 weeks). Even a few little pukes. Convinced it would have been a boy but its a girl for sure! can't wait til pregnancy is over.

Strongecoffeeismydrug · 23/01/2014 21:00

First pregnancy I was sick upto 20 times a day for nine monthsHmm it was a girl.
Second pregnancy no sickness felt great it was a boy.
Third pregnancy no sickness, feel fab and I'm having a girl in a weeks timeWink.
So no pattern here I'm afraid

RaRa1988 · 24/01/2014 09:15

I had terrible HG for weeks 7-11 coupled with crippling exhaustion, then a couple of weeks of respite, then became allergic to pretty much anything airborne and started getting sporadic but horrendous headaches. I've got very little bump still at 20 weeks and I'm the most active and generally the best I've felt so far, so the allergies are a pain. I just knew I was carrying a girl, and I got proved right yesterday Grin. It seems like every pg is different though - I'm not sure you can guess from symptoms alone.

ChicaMomma · 24/01/2014 11:03

Lots and lots say that sickness = a girl.
I am hoping for a boy, and have not been sick at all so want to believe this is true!!

Nahmate · 24/01/2014 11:06

Im having a boy my pregnancy has been horrible. Sickness, gagging, can't stand funny smells, keep passing out and drs don't know why. I just generally feel rubbish all the time.

ds1 was sick for 9months
ds2 no problems at all!
Dd wasn't sick until the last few weeks

every pregnancy is different. These babies like to keep us guessing :)

MummyPig24 · 24/01/2014 11:07

I don't know what I'm having but the sickness has been so much worse than the last 2 times. (Boy first, then girl) My gut feeling is that this baby is a boy but we will have to wait a few more weeks to find out.

mrsmugoo · 24/01/2014 11:23

I have also heard that boys tend to have less sickness, however my best friend is having a boy and she's still being sick now at 29 weeks so basically it's all just a 50/50 lottery!

I had no sickness whatsoever and i'm team yellow. Can't wait to find out - hopefully not knowing will give me an extra boost for pushing it out!

MirandaWest · 24/01/2014 11:26

I was sick in both pregnancies, put on many stones and looked like a beached whale at the end.

One boy and one girl :)

thecakeisalie · 24/01/2014 11:32

Ds1 & 2 - plenty of symptoms but none of them to extremes, mild morning sickness/nausea with both.

31 weeks tomorrow with dc3 and everything has been so much worse this time especially the sickness. I was sick pretty much everyday from 7-18 weeks and in between actually being sick had constant nausea, I lost 2 stone in those weeks. We don't know what were having though but I've heard worse morning sickness is a girl trait (not that I believe old wives tales that much). It'll be very interesting to find out, either way though it's probably just a coincidence!

LavenderFox · 24/01/2014 11:34

Your pregnancy hormone levels are higher when carrying a girl, which makes sickness more likely. Why some people get it and others don't nobody knows though.

Some pregnancy skin conditions are more common if you carry a boy, for example PUPPP. Those are the only 'scientific' differences I can think of.

siblingrevelry · 24/01/2014 11:41

1st pg (boy), slight sickness, lovely bump all at front, fit as a fiddle.

2nd (boy), worse sickness, SPD, lovely bump all at front

3rd (girl), bad sickness again, SPD and lovely bump all at front!

Sickness (feeling, not being) got progressively worse with each pregnancy, but stopped dead on 20 weeks with each, and I carried all three the same. I'm not convinced it's gender that affects how you carry-more the mom's body shape post-pregnancy, eating habits, lifestyle etc. and apparently sickness is known to get worse with subsequent babies.

enormouse · 24/01/2014 12:14

DS1 - no sickness, nothing. I went 11 days late with him but on the day I went into labour I walked the dogs and made a casserole for dinner.

DS2 - still no sickness. Got pgp and sciatica in the last month due to his size and him pressing on a nerve but that seems to have gone away in the last week and a half. Am back to to how I was towards the end of pregnancy with DS1. Am now 2 days overdue with him.

With both boys, I've only looked pregnant from the front.
