Just wondering what other people were experiencing at the same stage of pregnancy as me? I'm suffering with a bad back and struggling to lean down so shaving my legs in the shower, putting on socks and shoes are all starting to prove uncomfortable!

Yes me too! 21+3 today with dc3 and familiar with all these. Plus pelvis starting to grind about a bit and sleeping is starting to get uncomfortable- or at least turning over whilst asleep. Hurts and wakes me up! Also a bit breathless and getting some mega cravings now- green apples, seedless grapes and gallons of milk. DH thinks I am a freak :)

Finding putting one leg at a time into knickers/trousers is cumbersome- easier to put said item on floor, stand it it with both feet then huff and puff whilst trying to bend over to pull them up! Bandy legs ahoy :)

Scuttlebug · 21/01/2014 07:28

21 weeks today here! Beginning to have to do weird cowboy legs bending to pick stuff off floor (and cursing gravity cos I seem to drop everything at the moment) if I don't eat regularly I become shaky with hunger, so having lots of nuts and seeds for snacks. Feeling a bit uncomfortable joint wise by evening time but otherwise, my hair and nails are growing like mad, my skin is glowing, I've lots of energy and enjoy feeling the kicks. 2nd trimester definitely my favourite so far!
Have you started organising any gear for your baby yet or are you waiting a bit longer?

Artandco · 21/01/2014 07:30

I didn't even have a bump at 21 weeks ( both times). Only 'symptom' was craving mini milk ice creams

I'm 21 weeks today too, and I have the cowboy legs/struggling to reach the floor! I still have HG so even with medicaion gets lots of sickness and exhaustion. I've gone up 4 bra cup sizes so far and have the stretch marks to show for it Confused but no stretch marks yet on my tummy despite bump being quite big. I have lost quite a lot of weight from HG though, and I was quite tall and slim before, so perhaps bump just looks bigger as there's less of me.
Oddly, despite the HG I keep getting told that I'm glowing, so that's quite nice Smile I get pretty bad heartburn and restless legs too, but not sure if that's the medication.

Scuttle we have been getting things sorted, I was a bit reluctant as we've had previous losses, but DH has been so excited and is desparate to be optimistic that I agreed after our 20 week scan to start buying things.
So far we have all of our little man's clothes, bottles, quite a few toys and books and the cotbed is being delivered tomorrow. We did take advantage of the sales though as we asked for vouchers for Christmas, so bought most of the stuff using those. We've also picked the paint colours for his room and have started decorating. Smile We've picked the pram and car seat we want, and have picked all of the other things we want, so now it's just a question of buying it all.

Stars sympathise with you on HG. This is my third HG pregnancy (ds1 is 9 and ds2 5) and it has just subsided enough for me to return to work. Been signed off since week 8. In all pregnancies being sick so much and being unable to eat has had an amazing impact on my skin- like a detox I guess! Fantastic healthy, smooth even-toned skin (although have awful cold at the mo so my face is red and blotchy with a most attractive dry nose). Even the bumps on the tops of my arms have gone and it's now all silky! Every cloud I suppose :)

Good luck for the remainder of your pregnancy.

StarsInTheNightSky · 22/01/2014 19:04

Sick thank you Smile and sympathies (and awe) for facing it three times Shock) to you too. You're absolutely right about the positive effects on skin, physically I've never looked better, every cloud indeed Grin. Good luck and all the best to you too.

I'm also 21 weeks today. I have one sore area on my back, which doesn't bode well for the next 19 weeks. I'm also starting to struggle bend down to put knickers on. Can't believe I'm only halfway through! I don't think my husband would agree to help me put my undies on, so fingers crossed I can still get them on in 4 months' time ...

evertonmint · 23/01/2014 10:46

I'm 20 weeks today with DC3 so a week behind but I've noticed in the last couple of days that my lower back is getting really annoyed with me, and that my pelvis is getting sore. I'm going to need a pillow between my legs at night very soon. I've been cowboy bending for weeks even though my bump is the neatest of the 3 (and people keep saying I don't look 20 weeks). Tying shoes is becoming a pain. I've also had 2 days of heartburn after thinking I was getting away with it (terrible in first 2 pregnancies but taken until now to arrive.)

But I looked in the mirror this morning and thought "Wow, my skin looks great!" and my hair is looking bouncy (it never does except in pregnancy, but then it falls out continually until the baby is about 9 months old...) and I don't notice that I am pregnant as such - still walking and exercising and feeling much more energetic than first trimester.

Elastigrrrl · 23/01/2014 20:40

Ravenous!! Like Scuttle I go a bit funny if I don't eat regularly, including in the middle of the night. Otherwise, enjoying the vaguely nicer hair and skin but I haven't exactly turned into a model overnight. Not yet anyway.

Debating on when to start buying things...not as though those things won't be around in a month and I don't want to obsess over the material stuff (definitely a risk for me).

Yay for the second trimester!

Jolay100 · 23/01/2014 21:04

Also21weeks today and generally feeling pretty good - much better than 1st trimester! Slightly awkward cutting toenails, putting on shoes etc and getting up from a low soft seat is more challenging. The bump is definately getting there, but I can still more or less sleep in recovery position, but rolling over wakes me up.
We haven't bought anything yet, but have trip planned to mamas and apps / mothercare this weekend!

SarahSPT · 24/01/2014 03:26

I'm 21 weeks today and have developed overnight diahorrea. Nice.

Just thought I'd share that!

RaRa1988 · 24/01/2014 09:07

I'm 20 weeks so a week behind, but I'm feeling pretty good all round. I've become allergic to pretty much everything airborne over the last few weeks so I think my immune system is struggling a bit and consequently I sneeze and sniffle a lot, but I've barely got a bump, I've got plenty of energy and am still very active, and generally I feel the best I've felt in weeks Smile. Occasional sciatica on my rhs, and some weird stretching/pulling pains across my lower abdo, but that's it.

We haven't bought anything yet either, but plan to start looking soon. Exciting!

Hi ladies.. I'm 20weeks and 5 days today, I had my 20 week scan 2 days ago and found out I'm having a little girl and she's perfectly fine and healthy, I've been feeling her move since around 17 weeks and this is my first pregnancy.. for the past couple of week I've been getting a stretching/pulling/stabbing pain around my lower abdomen and especially on my right side.. has anybody else had this symptom? I am a massive worrier and nothing seems to put my mind at rest Confused
