32 weeks is a good gestation. I was told by a consultant that the survival rate for babies born at 32 weeks is the same as those born at term, but babies born at 32 weeks spend some time in SCBU after birth.

I had two rounds of steroids with ds who was born at 34 weeks just before Christmas. The first lot I had at 26 weeks when they thought I may have to deliver, the second a week before he arrived. He didn't go to SCBU at all.

I had several friends who delivered early whilst in hospital. My friend who had her baby at 30 weeks (same due date as me) as of New Year has her baby at home with her, she is doing well. My friend who had her baby at 32 weeks brought him just after New Year too, he only spent 4 weeks in SCBU. My niece was born at 30 weeks and is a strapping 4 year old now.

I had them at 29 weeks and delivered at32.

She's 9 now, fine, bright and sporty. It's scary but you should both be fine.

I had steroid injections at 32 weeks with DS who ended up not coming till term but gave us a heck of a scare.

Good luck!

I had steroid injections when my waters broke at 33 weeks, he was born a couple of days later. Fantastic things steroid injections but bloody painful!

He was 5lbs 5ozs and though he had to go to special care to start with he was excl breastfed and home within six days Smile

Best of luck jessandalfie, it's a scary time but I hope everything goes well for you x

I did, at 32 weeks. Delivered naturally at 34 weeks. Ds spent 2 weeks in scbu but is now 7 months and thriving.

Good luck with everything, try not to panic. 3ven 32 weeks is a good gestation.

I know how you feel, my first two dc's births were so straightforward and easy, having dc3 come prematurely was a massive shock. What really helped was talking to the medical staff about all the possibilities and they showed us around special care and told us where he would be and what kind of help he would need, one of the mums there was lovely and let us hold her dd who was the same gestation so we habpd an idea what the wires were like and how teeny he'd be. We bought a few tiny clothes just so he'd have something we'd chosen (though you don't need them) and all of that did help us feel calmer and more prepared, it was still scary though

I hope your baby stays put for a food while longer but I'm sure you will both be fine x
