Anyone had their baby here? Thinking of transferring out of CUH.

I'm under them, so far so good. Planning homebirth- midwife called today to arrange to meet in a few weeks :-)

As in Redhill? Yes I had my first there. Cant fault the midwifes & ped docs, they did a fantastic job. (Meconuim in waters, and severe labour pains in my back, ventouse, epistomy (sp)). It did take 3 tries for the epidural to go into the right place. However, post natel ward, I couldn't get out quick enough.
Would have had my second there, but we moved abroad. I'm currently 21 weeks.

Thanks. I'm under the CUH homebirth team at the moment but think I'll move to a MLU. The birthing centre at CUH is supposed to be good but as I live halfway between the 2 hospitals I thought id investigate my options.

Im having my first in East Surrey (due March) my sis in law had both of hers there and no issues, since she had hers though they have added the birthing centre (home from home) unit which looks nice. I need to go and have a tour soon i think.

Had all my antenatal care with all 3there (2004/2012/2013) and delivered 2 there (middle one I was transferred to Guildford as no scbu beds available that day) - 2 normal deliveries and a EMCS and no real issues. I did have an issue with a particular consultant but that was more in respect to an issue with my pregnancy and her poor decisions - I simply switched to another consultant :)

I had all 3 of mine there - 3 different births, (2 natural 1 CS) and had good experiences with all. The post-natal care with #1 was slightly shoddy, but it had improved a lot when i had my last 2 - most recently last October. I didn't get to experience the MW-led unit unfortunately, but I know people who have used it and said good things about it.

I'm tempted to stay under CUH as I live just inside their catchment and it'd be simpler for aftercare and if there's any complications Guildford is quite far. I had my dd at CUH and it was absolutely fine. I think I'm just having a little panic!
Thanks for the info.
