Can I use a webcam connected to iPad as a video monitor?

Is it possible to buy an external webcam with night vision to attach to the crib and use as a video monitor, viewing it on my iPad? I can't find the definitive answer to this question anywhere, but I can't think why no–one would have thought of this before?! Has anyone else done this? What webcam did you buy?

Thanks in advance for the recommendations!

Yes you can! We used a Foscam IP cam one a few years back, but it needs to be set up properly so it can't be accessed from outside your home network as there were hacking issues a while back (mostly related to people using the default password). They're not easy to set up unless you know a small amount about networking though.

However I'm pretty sure there are other, simpler ones around now. Like this one that costs the earth, but does what you want! www.withings.com/en/babymonitor

Brilliant! Those are great suggestions, I especially like the Motorola blink, I've just seen it on the Tesco website for £64.50 which sounds a really good deal. Have you found it to be good tgamble ?
