Am I being daft to feel a bit nervous at 35 weeks?

I'm 35+1 with No3. No1 was born at 37+1, No2 was born at 36+1 so HCP and I have all kind if assumed I'd have another early arrival.

Hospital bag is packed for me and the baby and PIL are back from visiting family 200 miles away over Xmas.

My previous labours were fine (well yes, sore, but quick and not traumatic). I did have pnd twice and both of my older children are off for Xmas till 6 Jan.

So, given that my labours were fine before, why do I feel a bit weird and like I'm on tenterhooks? I kind if want the baby to arrive soon but also want a few more weeks without another child!

Anyone?

I guess I've also never really had the last few days to a pregnancy before, when people talk about getting really twitchy. With no1, I was obviously surprised by her early arrival. With no2, everyone said there was nothing to suggest I'd have another early one, so I was really surprised when he turned up early too. But I guess this time because everyone (inc consultant) said I'm likely to have another early one, I feel like I'm on some kind of countdown.

No direct experience (yet - am 39 weeks), but suspect your body is preparing for labour and therefore leaving you feeling a little restless. I haven't been able to settle to much for ages - since about 36 weeks. My DM telling me to 'sit down' makes me ragey Grin

Good luck!

Thanks Humpty- nice to know I'm not alone. But the thought if feeling like this for 3 weeks-!!!

Good luck w your delivery, whenever that happens!

I'm 35+3. I've had 2 dc at 37 weeks. 2 dc at 38 weeks & my last one I managed to get to 40+2.

I feelike totally unprepared. Baby is breech. I've a hospital appointment at 37 weeks.

Nothing is ready in the house. No buggy, car chair, clothes or bag ready. I'm exhausted & really struggling but I don't want her to be born for another 5 weeks so I can get organised.

Your probably feeling the way you do as it's the unknown. The idea of labour & birth gets more scary the more you have. Ignorance is bliss!

Good luck. Hope everything works out as you want.

Hey Shelly. Did you find the extra weeks with your 3rd, 4th and 5th dc hard to wait through, or had you assumed you'd go to term, and therefore made the most of the time?
