Found out a couple of days ago that I'm pg with no.3. Very much wanted and planned and, with two non-sleepers, bloody hard work to achieve, but OMG WHAT HAVE WE DONE??

TobyLerone · 21/12/2013 20:04

I'm with you.

I keep being hit by "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING??!?!!!"

My DC are 12 & 14. I really don't know what I was thinking.

LanaStraightLeg · 21/12/2013 20:11

I bet your two sleep though (don't ruin this for me, have convinced myself mine will sleep by the time they're teenagers).

I have no good reason for wanting three, just that two never seemed like enough :)

I'm with you. Am now 25 weeks with v much wanted & long time to to get here (3 m/c's) dc3 but I am soooo tired and not sure I'm there enough for dd(5) & ds (3).

I just hear myself saying 'not now because Mummy is tired' all day.

TobyLerone · 21/12/2013 20:14

They do sleep through. And they cook and make tea and get themselves to school.

I'm due in 2 weeks.

WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING??!!!!

Spookey80 · 21/12/2013 20:19

I'm there- scared? 29 weeks now and every time we're having a bad day..or just a normal day out and about, I think about how a baby will fit in with my 2 full on dd4 and ds3!!!
How am I gonna get them to school? How am I gonna have enough time for my beautiful bigger babies? My little boy is still my baby, how will he cope?
I'm so tired at the moment I can't think straight. Was feeling really happy and excited a few weeks ago, but now lethargy has taken over and I'm feeling scared.

mummeeee · 21/12/2013 20:28

Spookey - am so glad it's not just me with the tiredness. At 25 wks I feel like the tiredness will only get harder. I should have lots of energy now. I can't wait to finish work but that's months away.

LanaStraightLeg · 21/12/2013 20:38

Toby, they sound great! Are they excited? Can they babysit while you nap in the day? Can see how going back to the baby stage might be harder when you've got used to them sleeping and not needing assistance in the loo ...

We have a DD aged 5 and DS aged 2, so similar to some of you. When we were TTC the second time, I felt guilty for not giving DD a sibling. This time I feel guilty for making DS a middle child. I don't think he's going to adapt as well as she did.

Am only 4 wks btw so slightly ahead of myself, but going to burst unless I talk to someone about it!

DC3 is now 9 weeks and my other 2DC are 15 and 12 and I can say they have been bloody brilliant. Such a help, they love changing, feeding him etc. he's going to be one spoilt little man :)

RosesOnTheWane · 21/12/2013 20:54

Can I join you? I have twins aged 4 and find myself unexpectedly pregnant with number 3.
I am (thought I was) infertile! 7 yrs and 6 cycles of fertility treatment for the DTs. This one we conceived in 2 months!!
Have a scan on Monday as I could be anywhere from 7 - 12 weeks ! Eeeek!

TobyLerone · 21/12/2013 21:01

Foxey, that is so good to hear!

Yes, they're excited. I'm sure they'll be great with the baby when it's born :)

Good luck, OP!

fluffandnonsense · 21/12/2013 21:31

I'm 34 weeks with DC3 and already have a nearly 5 year old and a nearly 2.5 year old. The 2.5 year old is like a one woman whirlwind who I have to watch every single second. She gets in cupboards, runs off on roads, won't sit still at the table, draws on everything and is far too clever for her own good. My nearly 5 year old is lovely bless him but he likes everything to be just 'so'. So if his pants don't match his socks the world ends and if the straw in his milk is the wrong colour he can't cope.

I already have days where I'm so exhausted I could cry. All I can say is god help me!

GoMommaGo · 21/12/2013 21:41

Oh gosh congrats roses!

Fluff I can relate! I am 38 weeks dc3 and my dd1 is a proper little perfectionist age 5 and dd2 is also a whirlwind, age 3 but still wild! Stamping , screaming, rage! But gorgeous and mostly very well behaved, bless her, just soooo intense. They are thick as thieves so I hope they have shared enjoyment and irritation at dc 3 when arrives! I am nesting like mad but all ready, hosp bag packed and ready to grab, (other two quick labours) mostly looking forward to x3 and getting into a routine with them all, can't wait now it's nearly here, honestly! Def had worries at start tho and this dc was as planned and wanted as the first two. Def no more for me tho, I feel I can be fair to three and spend the time to meet needs as diff ages and relish the thought of doing so, rewards it brings in parenting but I know from just coping with preg and two dc that personally for us dc3 is enough!

juliec26 · 21/12/2013 21:41

25 weeks pg with dc 3 .. Feel fed up with feeling uncapable of being the mum I am not pregnant as so tired all time and overwhelmed working and looking after 2 dc while suffering nausea spd etc!

Knowing it's going to get harder makes me want to cry :(

kazza446 · 21/12/2013 21:44

Hey don't panic. Going from 1 to 2 is really hard. Adding 3 into the mix is a doddle.... You are already surrounded by chaos, adding another into the equation won't be toodifficult. I'm on my unplanned 4th.. Wtf am I doing lol!! 42years old and 38.5 wk preg, argh!!!

Strongecoffeeismydrug · 21/12/2013 22:15

Due in 6 weeks with very unplanned number 3( but much wanted),
My other 2 are. 18 and 9 and the 9 year old has autism so my house is chaos anywayWink.
Got to say I'm knackered at just the thought of night feeds all over again cos I is old now (40) lol

GreatJoanUmber · 21/12/2013 22:34

I'll join in too!
37+2 today, already have a 2yo and a 4yo.
Last week I got the date for my ELCS and ever since, it's really hit home - "OMG I'll have THREE KIDS soon! I will really have another baby! What the hell was I thinking!"
DC3 was unplanned, but is very much wanted, though I might have timed it differently Wink

BlackholesAndRevelations · 22/12/2013 01:05

Identify with a lot of you on here- currently 40 weeks with dc3 and have dd (3) and ds (2). Mad I tells you! Grin Wink

MaryAnnTheDasher · 22/12/2013 08:16

Completely agree. Can't get my head around what I perceive as a looming logistical nightmare!

aGnotherGnuletideGreeting · 22/12/2013 08:27

Oh hello, yes I am in this club. 15weeks PG with DC3, already have DS1 who is 4 and DS2 who is 2.

Veering between BRILLIANT, I LOVE BABIES to OMG ARE WE MAD? Doesn't help that people keep saying things like rather you than me.

Just been on a thread where OP is struggling to find time to do reading at home with DC. This is the sort of thing I am panicking about - how do I fit in full time work with homework and projects?

Plus how will we afford the bills when I have to do 300 washing loads a week, what when they are teenagers and eat massive amounts, what about UNIVERSITY FEES etc etc

But really, it's a BABY - that's great isn't it? :o

TobyLerone · 22/12/2013 08:33

"Babies are cute" is the only thing keeping me from full on panic attack!

PenguinsDontEatStollen · 22/12/2013 08:36

Yup, me. Wasn't planned and has been quite a struggle to get my head around! Now 22 weeks. Also panicking about the looming logistical nightmare of school runs and bedtimes (DH often works away).

princesscupcakemummyb · 22/12/2013 15:37

i had my 3rd baby a boy 7 weeks ago and i felt like this as my 2 year old is not a great sleeper still isent its v hard at times i also have a 4 year old but i thought oh well its done now our lil boy was much wanted after we had a mmc its really not to bad tbh infact were now ttc our 4th as we want the next 1 close to the youngest Grin

KnickersOnOnesHead · 22/12/2013 15:52

30weeks gone with a 5 and 6 year old who do not sleep through either!!

God help us all!

turnwest · 22/12/2013 16:17

I have a 6 yr Dd and a 14 month old DS and I m 10 weeks pregnant with DC3 I m constantly thinking what the hell have I done!! Glad its not just me.

LanaStraightLeg · 23/12/2013 23:49

Oh Roses that's lovely, if probably a bit of a shock!

Fluff your DD sounds like my DS. He utterly exhausts me. DD was easy in comparison!

Knickers Nooooooooooo I need to cling to the thought my 5 yo will sleep through when she's 6 ... On the one hand, between the two of them there are nights when I get frighteningly little sleep ... On the other hand, hell, I'm ready for a newborn and I'm up anyway Wink

Glad I'm not the only one panicking slightly. For one thing my DC currently like to sleep one on each of my arms (nb this is massively uncomfy for me). How on earth will a third actually fit? How will we get them in the car? We don't have enough bedrooms.

But also - yay! (AF should have arrived today but I'm still pg, so feeling positive :) )
