I'm almost 12 weeks pregnant with DC2 my and getting fed up with the constant nausea Sad morning sickness is fair enough (and I had that first time round with DS) but this is morning, all day and night time sickness!
It's also making me feel so exhausted all the time.
I know this will pass in a few more weeks (hopefully!) but has anyone got some top tips for coping with this in the meantime?

I still have this at 39+3!!!!! My top tips for not losing my tiny mind... lots of small snacks (cereal bars are amazing), peppermint tea, diet coke (despite the caffeine) and hot chocolate. Small portions little and often. Hope you feel better soon!

AlwaysDancing1234 · 12/12/2013 19:30

Oh dear emma I was hoping it wouldn't last that long! Thanks for the tips. I can't bear to drink tea or coffee at the moment so might try a peppermint tea, so bored of plain water!

Ha ha ha - I wouldn't worry, my midwife and doctor keep telling me how unusual it is that it lasts the whole pregnancy :-) Hope you feel better soon! x

im 31 weeks pregnant n still getting sick. Feel like it will never end.yrs may not last that long it dont usually now some people it does. the only thing that is getting me through it is chewing gum. tried all the other remedies they say but nothing works. hope yrs dont last to long xx

kiki88 · 12/12/2013 21:41

im 10wks and felt constant nausea the last 4wks. Robinsons sugar free squash, salt&vinegar crisps and nibbling on red grapes constantly through the working day have been the best things to settle me. hope that helps. could also sleep standing up! hope rhe tiredness eases a little, its making me very antisocial falling asleep on the sofa all the time lol

Hellymummy · 12/12/2013 21:43

I am the same unfortunately, I was hoping for an easy ride when I hit 12 weeks but still going on at 15 weeks!!! I limited my plain water intake as I found that was adding to my nausea. I had juice cartons, diet coke, ginger ale was amazing and little nibbles of dry biscuits!!!!!!!! It's grim isn't it

Barbsta · 12/12/2013 23:14

I say the same thing all the time and I never expected it to be this hard so I got a big shock. There is no words for how draining this is

Batmam · 12/12/2013 23:28

I could've written this. With dc1 i was better by 10wks but here I am at 12wks with dc2 and sickness and all day nausea is still with me. I second what the poster above said, plain water tastes metallic for me and makes me more sick. I'm bad at drinking enough other fluids though despite knowing that dehydration makes morning sickness worse. Just utterly fed up of feeling so useless all the time Confused hope we all feel better soon!

Barbsta · 12/12/2013 23:33

I struggle with drinking fluids too because almost every drink turns my stomach including water and I thought that was just me. Even if I find a drink I like it turns my stomach after. Couple days :( just like mist food

AlwaysDancing1234 · 13/12/2013 08:36

It's comforting to know I'm not the only one although I don't wish this nausea on anyone! I have my 12 week scan on Mionday and not sure how I'm going to drink the required half a litre of water beforehand without puking it back up again! Thanks for the ideas everyone, I'm wiling to try almost anything at the moment. Hoping we all feel better soon.

oh, forgot about ginger beer / ale... also very good distraction and keeps the sugar levels / energy up... might go and get some now in fact! :-)

AlwaysDancing1234 · 13/12/2013 09:01

Lashings of ginger beer for me then! (Non alcoholic of course)

I've tried hot water and found that doesn't feel so harsh on my stomach. Missing the Christmas drinks like coffe and cream and hot choc but just can't stomach them at the moment Sad

I'm 14 wks and still miserable I thought I'd be on my way to glowing by now!

It's smells that get to me most whereas in my first pg it was more just food.

I got tablets from my gp which have helped but they only take the edge off.

I really hope that by Christmas day I can actually eat my dinner :(

AlwaysDancing1234 · 13/12/2013 09:16

Having said all this I do still feel so grateful to be pregnant at all, DS is 6 so waited a long time for this baby and I know it will all be worth it in the end.
