Hello,

Am 6+1 according to LMP. This morning had a scan as had some spotting. Sonographer picked up a gestational sac around "5 to 6 weeks" but no yolk sac. I now have to wait another week for another scan.

Had anyone had experience of this or is it likely I'll miscarry? So scared.

Nothing to write home about at 6 weeks, DS now 3 at 8. All is not lost!

Its REALLY early days. You can ovulate pretty much anywhere in your cycle, sperm can live for up to a week and implantation of the fertilised egg can take some time. There is quite a large window for dating error if you go by LMP. You have a PG in the correct place, try and hold on to that. Its so hard not to worry, and it galls me to admit it, but when the HCPs say theres nothing you can do but wait, they are right. Many many people come on here with the same question and many many of them turn out ok. All you can do is keep busy for the next week. xxx

Thanks for the support. Just can't get it out of my head that I should've seen something. Need to get off researching yolk sacs on the internet!
