The joys of swollen veins - down there

Third time round and.... Ouch.

What do you do to relieve them??

Cold flannel. So far that's the only thing I know to relieve it slightly

It's more so when I'm upright, active. Walking etc. Not an option to elevate legs much with three up and 18mo

My god I remember this with last child. I never had it with first. I was getting ice cubes out and holding them on the veins. Im pregnant again and dread the thought of swollen veins.
Another wonderful thought Constipation!! trying to explain why you have been on the toilet an hour!!
I did have these symptoms with my little boy but not my daughter, do you know what you are having?

Me too with DC3. I'm putting on a little bit of Preparation H, the gel not the ointment, which is very soothing and cooling. MW said its fine as it's only witch hazel.

Apparently you can use it under your eyes for bags too, who knew? Might be useful for after the birth!!!!!!

I had these at the end with dc2 and nothing but lying supine helped im afraid. Im now 27 weeks with dc3 and awaiting (dreading) them rearing their ugly heads again. Happily they went away after giving birth last time but did leave behind small blood blister type marks on my outer labia which i hate. Joys of pregnancy :-\

4th timer here, 26 wks now & mine are hideous….and agony. They popped up at 13 weeks this time, 20 wks last time & at the end the time before. Rest is all that helps me, but what with 3DC & working 26 hrs/wk I don't get much! If it's any consolation they've never interfered with labour & they do go afterwards. Must try Preparation H, thx for that!

I looked earlier with a mirror (classy) and I noticed I am more swollen on one side -the side that I have been getting a painful feeling in too. Some of my veins have also gone dark and got purple circles? Is this just a build up from being swollen?
