He thinks it would be brilliant. The surname is "Dix". Your comments please...

If this is a troll, it's not funny because my DS1 is called Dizzy. Are you getting at me the name game?

thenamegame · 18/07/2006 17:04

No, I'm not trying to get at anyone. Sorry if I have inadvertantly offended, particularly if your child is called Dizzy.

I have changed my talk name from normal, not because I am a regular poster and people are likely to know me, but only because I am in the early stages of pg, and didn't want any comments from my antenatal group about it being a bit early for name discussions.

Thank you all for your comments, even if some of them are a little wicked

Ophelia Dix

Greensleeves · 18/07/2006 17:32

lionheart, is Dizzy short for something, or is it his actual Christian name? Did you have him christened?

golds · 18/07/2006 17:34

so what did you end up calling you last child ?

lionheart · 18/07/2006 17:44

oh, thenamegame, I was just kidding 'cos I thought you were as well. Sorry.

Actually, my DS's do have unusual names, but not this one.

FWIW and since I didn't kill the thread after all, it's the combination that rules it out, isn't it?

Caligula · 18/07/2006 17:52

No no you must call him Otto Dix

Greensleeves · 18/07/2006 17:52

Thank fuck for that

Blandmum · 18/07/2006 17:54

Have heard worse.

A mate of mine once taugh a 'Truly -Scrumptious' Mother complained that he teachers had shortened it to Truly

lionheart · 18/07/2006 17:54

lol Greensleeves (good show of concern, though).

beef · 18/07/2006 17:55

dizzy gillespie's real name was John - how about that?

thenamegame · 18/07/2006 18:30

Don't want a one syllable first name with a one syllable surname really, so John is out.

DS1 is Alfie Oliver Dix

Thankfully, I got DP to be fairly sensible in the end!

I love the Otto Dix page!
