Scan tomorrow and need my nuchal test form asap?!

I have my 12 week scan booked for tomorrow lunch time, I was supposed to have my booking appointment with the midwife at 9.00am tomorrow morning but she's just text to say she's ill. It needed to be tomorrow because she needs to give me the consent form for the nuchal measurement test.

Remembering back to my scan with DS (3 years ago) I thought it was really important that I had this form else they wouldn't do it...

Is that right? is there somewhere else I can get it from?

I have never heard of that form. Currently 35+3 and I was never given or asked for that form when I had my 12 week scan.

oh ok! did they do the nuchal measurement at your 12 week scan?

There definitely is a form, as she said she'd bring it to the appointment tomorrow. I just don't know if I can get another one at the hospital before the scan. I think I remember from my first pregnancy that you can't but that doesn't seem very sensible to me!

Yes they did the nuchal measurement. But I definetly didn't get a form to take. Maybe every trust is different. Can you text MW and ask her?

I text her back the same minute that the text arrived but haven't had a reply! I am so sure she said last time round they wouldn't do it without the consent form.

I am in Essex if anyone has direct experience locally?

Thanks for your help littlepea :)

My hospital sent the form out in the post with the appt info, but I stupidly left it and my notes at home when I went for the scan. The sonographer gave me a new one at the scan. I wouldn't worry about it.

I was just asked verbally for consent at the scan.

I really wouldn't worry too much, I can't imagine for a second that they wouldn't do an important measurement because of a piece of paper, particularly with you there to say yes or no.

Good luck for a happy scan and lovely clear images Smile

Mine got posted with the scan booking and I took it with me. I'm sure they can give it to you there so don't worry

Thanks for your replies - it was all fine in the end, I just had to go and see some other midwives at the hospital and do the form with them and then take it to my scan. They were very accomodating, and scan all fine :)
