Spots and ulcers on the tongue !!

Have any of you lovely pregnant ladies experienced that?

They have been coming on and off during all my pregnancy. Im now 36 weeks and have had really painful spots on the tip of my tongue for 2 days now ( they last about 5 days), which make drinking and eating really horrible.

Is it due to the hormone in the saliva? Should I be worried?

I have these on the side of my tongue at 18 weeks but have concluded it's from all the citrus fruit I'm eating! Craving central!
They are very painful though. Hope yours clear up soon x

I used to get them over and over during pg and for a few months afterwards.

It is horrible and sometimes infected my whole mouth making it very sore. The only thing I found that made it any better was using Corsodyl 2-3 times a day.

Good luck.

Go and show them to a dentist who is usually better at understanding these than a GP. I think it is an immunity thing bit like getting thrush so not dangerous but treatable. Maternity exemption makes dental care a lot more fun.....

I've had similar on and off since about 8 or 9 weeks - am now 20w. They aren't ulcers or spots as such, but sometimes my tongue is so sore (down both sides) that I find it hard to eat anything. It seems to have eased off at the moment, but I have also found the alcohol-free Corsodly mouthwash to really help when it flares up. I wondered if it was oral thrush, but there were no white patches or anything Confused

Come back and let us know how you get on. I am also booked for the dentist next week, so will also mention it, but you can guarantee they won't be flared up on that day and he/she won't be able to give me any answers!

I used to get these when pregnant and now when ever im run down! So so sore and if I ate anything that stung it, it was awful.

I went to the gp who said basically your body is run down etc just like mouth ulcers. I was told to use bonjella
