i am 19 + 3 with DC3 and have put on 5 lbs - BUT 3 of them have gone on in the last WEEK Shock

i was feeling quite smug til i weighed myself today :/

and am worried if it continues like this i will be huge by the end, as am only 5 foot 2 and normally (when not pg) about 8 stone 2.

Writerwannabe83 · 25/11/2013 14:35

By the time I got to 20 weeks I had put on 6lbs Smile

SeeYouNT · 25/11/2013 14:38

about the same as me then :) thank you

i have heard after 20 weeks on average you gain a pound a week, i could cope with that as would mean i would only have gained about 25lbs by the end

i was lucky with my last dc as only gained about 15lbs by the end- really doubt i will be that jammy again grrrr Envy @ my old self.

I've put on about 8 lbs (well, up until the scales and I decided to take a break from each other last week at 19 weeks).
The internet tells me this is fine and about exactly where it should be given my height and pre-pregnancy weight (7 st 12 and 5 foot nothing). I'm eating healthily and exercising but the whole "this is not fat this is baby and his luggage" is still a little hard to take.
So basically I'm now a tad heavier than you are, having started out lighter, so you have to be absolutely fine for my sake. So you are absolutely fine!

lizziekal · 25/11/2013 15:49

Oh the shame. I've put on 10 kilos (22 pounds) but I was barely scraping 7 stone (bmi 16.5) when I got pregnant. The only thing that helped with the 24 hr nausea was eating and tbh the hospital now say I'm a healthy weight. But if I carry on like this I think I'll end up spherical.

Tea1Sugar · 25/11/2013 17:30

19 weeks tomorrow and have put on 10lbs making me weigh bang on 9stone at the moment. My BMI pre pregnancy was underweight so consultant is pleased.

oh god yeah defo, i really hate gaining weight in pregnancy, i know its necessary but i find it hard watching the scales go up :(

so does anyone know it its true that past 20 weeks we gain a pound a week? its a scary thought but at least if i am expecting it, i am prepared iyswim

So they say. I imagine once I get a no-doubt-about-it-this-woman-is-upduffed bump it'll seem more natural. It's just at the moment I feel more like I'm sporting a fairly decent food baby. Years of societal pressure working against us. Also I must stop sporadically looking at photos of Kate Middleton's erstwhile bump. Not helping.

Imnotsurehowtogetthisout · 25/11/2013 20:01

I have gained 4.5kg as of 21 weeks. Most of that was eating through my morning sickness in the first trimester.... Very worried about the weight gain and what I will look like at the end Confused.

Butterytoast · 25/11/2013 20:02

10lb I think- can't remember my 'starting' weight!

Butterytoast · 25/11/2013 20:03

Am 20 weeks

TeaAndANatter · 25/11/2013 20:16

Wouldn't even occur to me to weigh myself, and I certainly don't trouble to ask the midwife - why meet trouble half way I say! Until I can't fit in the front door, or fall through a drain cover, I reckon I'll be just where my body and cake habit put me!

I won't be Kate Moss at the end, but neither will I be Jabba the Hut, and it'll all come off in the end, at least, it usually does. Chin up, love. Bet you're doing just right x

LightTripper · 25/11/2013 22:56

Not much... I am about a pound heavier than when I started, but lost nearly half a stone at the start with sickness, so have gained a few pounds since then. Seems very uneven though. GP didn't seem worried about no weight gain at 16 weeks so I guess it's ok. I was middle of healthy BMI when I started, and am tall so half a stone either way doesn't feel that different, so I'm hoping a few pounds above or below norm is not going to be a big issue. I definitely LOOK pregnant, so not sure what is happening, must all be shifting about!!

LightTripper · 25/11/2013 22:57

Oh, and am a day off 19 weeks!

LightTripper · 25/11/2013 22:59

And have been sick and weedy, so probably losing muscle mass (to the extent I had any to start with)...

LastOneDancing · 27/11/2013 08:12

20lb.
Mainlined carbs through the 12 weeks of nausea.

Terrible mistake & feeling like a huge cow. But well done on all your little gains.

goes off to sob

4thTimeLuckyWithBoo · 27/11/2013 12:43

I'm 5"7ish and 16 weeks today, so far I've gone from 9stone1-9stone3. Which I'm content with but with my other I oonly carried until 23 week's I went from 9 and a half to 10 and a half stone :-O. Was shocked!

LightTripper · 27/11/2013 15:07

The problem is, we don't seem to have much control, and either way you worry ... I keep thinking I haven't put on enough. On the other hand my back is crap, so in a way it's good not to have too much more me to carry around. Anyway, still plenty of time to achieve whale status.

I am hoping as I get further through and nausea goes it will be more easy to eat healthily and not just grab something in a panic to avoid throwing up (or eat something nice and healthy and then throw it up anyway sigh)

I am going to make a new policy to refuse to worry unless the MW tells me to.

dimdommilpot · 27/11/2013 22:37

I don't know as not weighed myself. 21 weeks today. I don't have a bump yet and my clothes still fit but i think each of my boobs have put on half a stone each...

SeeYouNT · 28/11/2013 11:13

Lol dimdommilpot i know what you mean, i reckon my boobs have doubled Shock

i also have a massive bump as well so am Envy at your lack of bump

loopylouu · 28/11/2013 13:55

2 and a half stone.

But I had horrific morning sickness and even with medication, I only got through it on salt and vinegar crisps, chocolate and potatoes in any form...I low carbed before pregnancy, so all the carbs made me balloon - I put the first stone on in a week.

Then I felt better, sickness went and I've eaten for England for 4 weeks. Have put a halt on the crap now though and have cut out man made carbs and potatoes.

loopylouu · 28/11/2013 13:56

My boobs are enormous though, I honestly reckon over half a stone has gone on them.

SoonToBeSix · 28/11/2013 14:10

Nothing, am 21 weeks with twins but have lost weight due constantly throwing up Grin

SeeYouNT · 29/11/2013 14:38

oh god poor you soontobe the sickness is awful isn't it, i hope it goes for you soon

well i have gained ANOTHER TWO POUNDS this week. well, since last friday (have been weighing myself on my friends super posh digital scales) and i am getting worried now, this is silly, am only 20 weeks today. if this continues i am just going to be ridiculously huge. am only 5 foot 2 so i look awful.

Tea1Sugar · 30/11/2013 08:15

I started at 8st4lbs and now at 19+4 I think I've put on about 11lbs but dp has hidden the scales now as I got obsessive. He is only letting me have them every 3 weeks! I put on 3st with dd1 so super paranoid about putting on that much again even though I lost all of it and an extra 10lbs within 12weeks.

SeeYouNT · 30/11/2013 10:21

LOL at your dp hiding the scales tea1

i think mine will do that soon as he must be getting sick of me stressing, i cried for about half hour yesterday about it Hmm

somehow i am a pound lighter today?? Confused
