Ultimate preggo brain fade - expensive mistake :(

Just went to the atm before grabbing some lunch. Went to pay for lunch and realised I've left £100 sticking out of a cash machine.
Burst into tears on the high st :(
God I feel stupid not to mention the bloody money!! Argh!!

contact the bank, you should get it back but may take a few weeks. i have done it and i wasn't even pregnant at the time

Have you checked your account and called the bank. Machines usually take the money back in after a minute (or is it 30 seconds I can't remember).

Call the bank, the machine might have taken it back in.

I've just come back from a work trip and failed to get receipts for most of my expenses because of pregnancy brain/exhaustion.

Don't be hard on yourself, the bank might be able to rescue the funds.

Someone nice like me will have taken it into the bank.

After calling the bank, call the police.

A friend of mine did it and the police found who had taken it, and they actually paid it back! Unlikely but you don't know unless you try.

And don't be too hard on yourself. I used to tell myself the baby was taking my brain cells!

ATMs actually suck the money back in after only 10 seconds, so there's three possible outcomes:

1. it sucks it back and the ATM automatically recredits your account within 24hrs
2. a nice person grabs it and takes it into the bank (FYI if you are ever in the nice persons situation, don't do this, just stand guard til the machine takes it back in! It creates havoc with balancing stuff )
3. an utter twat grabs it and keeps it.

If it's either of the first two (with 1 being by far the most likely) your money will be sorted out! Don't feel silly, it happens all the time

Thanks everyone, I just called the bank, they said it should reverse automatically if the machine took it back, or otherwise to call back after 48 hours and they should refund it so feeling a bit better now!

That's a relief!
