Can you use a hot water bottle when pregnant?

37+6 today and have period like pains in my lower back - is it safe to use a hot water bottle/ hot wheat bag?

Really hope it is the start of labour, so fed up with being pregnant. Want a baby not a bump :)

Hi. I asked my midwife this a couple of weeks ago and she said its fine, you could hold a hot water bottle against your bump. I said if probably do it in labour and she agreed it was a good idea, so go for it!!

Good luck. Fingers crossed this is the start for you! I'm 37w today so know how you feel!

Thanks, DH has been sent to the kitchen to stick the wheat bag in the microwave :)

My HWB has been a God Send when I've been all achey around my hips and pelvis. My husband moans at me because it makes the bed hot but he is just a grumpy sod at times Smile
