My local hospital, Colchester, can't seem to keep out of the news at the moment. To be fair, the maternity services haven't been mentioned but the talk of a bullying culture and making up data is concerning. Has anyone had any experience there.
It really is my only option. Patient choice is an even more hollow statement than parent choice on school places.

I'm sorry your local hospital is getting bad press. Have you been on a tour and spoken to any staff in the maternity wards about your concerns?
Do you have a local midwife lead unit or the option of a home birth as an alternative?

The midwife led unit is at the hospital. It really is the only local option. I don't feel that home birth is an alternative I wish to consider, I have a few chronic health issues and I would really like to be closer to full medical care. I haven't been on a tour yet (haven't even had my booking in). Already annoyed at the community midwife provision at my GP's surgery (or rather the lack of it).
