This may be a silly question, but when do stretch marks start to appear? None as yet (at 27w), but keep checking (and slapping on all those lotions that do no good at all).

i remember having boobs

kittywits · 20/07/2006 21:39

I remember boobs too! I've got 5 kids and thankgod no stretch marks. Never rubbed anything in. It's suppoosed to be the luck of the draw. I've heard that creams don't make a difference because it is the skin UNDERNEATH that is tearing (lovely thought) so creams aren't going to stop that happening

psychomum5 · 20/07/2006 21:41

ooh, I still got my boobs!!!

psychomum5 · 20/07/2006 21:41

miss having a defined waist tho.

am now more straight up and down, rather than in and out....

kittywits · 20/07/2006 21:43

Hi psycho, I've got 3dd's and 2 ds's, but in the opposite order to you, strange!

psychomum5 · 20/07/2006 21:47

how bizarre

how old are yours???

MadamePlatypus · 20/07/2006 23:24

I read in a magazine (so must be true) that Victoria Beckham is sensitive about her stretch marks and that is why you never see her in a bikini.

NotAnOtter · 20/07/2006 23:36

mine were
ds1 7 10
dd 8 8
ds2 8 11
ds3 8 10
ds4 8 8

Just looking at 8 seaters!
midwives told me - second deliveries easiest (true)
also said even numbers easier (true)

iamapieceofcheesecake · 21/07/2006 00:35

Hate to put a downer on this but I used a few different kinds of creams and appeared to get away with having no stretchmarks....that was until ds was born and I could see the inside of my thighs and my tummy wasn't so stretched!
But in all honesty, I have come to terms with having them because they remind me of the fact that I carried and gave birth to the most wonderful person to have ever entered and made the most impact upon my life

lou33 · 21/07/2006 01:12

nah , my second was the most painful!

kittywits · 21/07/2006 06:26

trinityrhino · 21/07/2006 17:06

psychomum5 · 21/07/2006 17:10

trinity.

read my post, and lou33, and kittywits.....all us many kiddies and no stretch marks either. You are not alone, so you can come out of hining. Altho I fear from my RL friends reactions we may get pelted with rocks at somepoint

trinityrhino · 21/07/2006 17:11

oh cool, thats alright then

psychomum5 · 21/07/2006 17:16

Oooh, and on the car front....we have a previa with 8 seats and is a fab car with a huge boot!

Oooh, and on the pain and delivery front, first was hard (obviously really!), second was too quick, but easy, third was loooooong but pushing was as quick as no.2 (from 5cm to 10 in 5 mins), fourth birth was the worst altho smallest, and then fifth a doddle. Altho by then I guess he should have walked out!!!

kittywits · 21/07/2006 19:13

my babies seem to have really massive heads and come out a la superman , so, no stretch marks, just stretched horribly in other places

ezridax · 22/07/2006 11:47

I already had stratchmarks on my thighs - i seem to hav got some evil ones since pregnancy and strangley i've got some on the front of my thighs.

Hopefully they won't get much worse - i guess i'll just have to get over it if i do

I guess i could stop eating and maybe that would help

tilley23 · 22/07/2006 23:38

Hi I thought i had got away with it, but mine appeared at 40 weeks!

calsworld · 01/08/2006 15:54

I've had stretch marks since about 11 weeks, despite using clarins oil in the mornings and cocoa butter at night - which seems really early compared to you lot! However, I have eczema and have had to use a lot of steroid creams over the years and wondered if perhaps this had not helped.....

quootiepie · 01/08/2006 17:11

i thought I was getting away with it, but they sprouted one by one from about week 35.

olivo · 02/08/2006 18:16

I thought I'd got away with it too, after endless weeks of oils and lotions, but last week at 36 weeks, i got stacks all over the bottom of my bumo
