Hi all, has anyone else had gagging whilst brushing their teeth? I dread picking my brush in the mornings, it's so horrible! At night it's not so bad though which is strange. Can anyone help or suggest doing anything different?

I'm struggling with this too. It has got better since I started using kids strawberry flavour toothpaste Blush

I had this too with both pregnancies, unpleasant when you are going through it, but unlike some of the other poor posters above it went away both times a few weeks after the MS started to ease up. This time round the MS started to ease around 13 weeks and the gagging had mainly disappeared by 17 weeks.

For me different toothpastes didn't help. I found it helped to eat first thing in the morning but then to leave it an hour or two before attempting to brush teeth, otherwise I'd just bring up whatever I'd eaten. The only other thing to do was deep breaths and grit teeth till it passed. Strangely enough, I had completely forgotten all about the gagging between pregnancies - it wasn't till I started to experience it second time round that I thought "uh oh, I've been here before". But I found that I'd also blocked out a lot of other things about the nastiness of the 1st trimester.

Ok so I've tried eating and then waiting say half an hour between brushing. It seemed to help lots and I brushed super quick! I used my electric toothbrush this time with the smaller head which also meant using less toothpaste. See how I get on again tomorrow I think!
