Hi all, I'm 11 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child and I'm experiencing symptoms like never before and I'm very scared. I was rushed into hospital Tuesday with a suspected stroke as I collapsed in the shower and lost the use of my left side for 4-5 hours but although fortunately it turned out not to be a stroke but a severe migraine attack which is apparently common due to the increase in progesterone levels in early pregnancy. But its now 5 days later and I just don't feel right, I'm constantly woozy and dizzy and often doing the simplest activity I feel like my legs are going to go from beneath me. Ive been back to the docs and have been put on complete bed rest I also have anti sickness drugs to combat the dizziness but I'm struggling to believe I can feel this unwell as a result of pregnancy. Has anyone else experienced similar? And please tell me It's going to get better cos I'm very distressed xxxx

If the symptoms have not gone away even though you're taking the medicine you need to go either to A&E or the out of hours doctor as soon as possible so you can be monitored. With the right care and a lot of rest you will feel better but you need to access that care now.
Best wishes to you, I hope you feel better very soon.

Hi Mogz
I'm due back at the docs tomorrow. Have u experienced this? Why do u suggest A&E again? X

Ps the meds suppress the symptoms for a short time but haven't eradicated them altogether.

Does this sound like what you have?

Labyrinthitis is v common. And v unpleasant.

But yes, get yourself checked out again if not improving with the meds.

Do you know if your blood pressure is low? I know it is common for it to be lower in early pregnancy but with one of mine i had really low blood pressure until about 15 weeks. My GP said it was just above the threshold for losing conciousness and signed me off work until I was better.

I felt absolutely horrendous - when I tried to walk, the floor would suddenly tilt sideways in front of me & I was start to faint if I didn't hit the floor on time. The only thing I could cope with was lying down in bed & drinking Lucozade. I felt so sick I couldn't eat but I wasn't actually sick. Your description reminded me of how I felt so I wondered if that might be a factor for you. I hope you feel much better soon.

Hi, I haven't actually been sick either but my apetite is non existent. I am forcing myself to eat a little and oftenwith the help of the anti sickness, meds but agreed I do feel incredibly sick.

Did u experience any tingling in your fingers, jaw etc... When I was in hosp and at the docs my BP was ok as they did consider that bit obviously it can dip and peak at different times, plus usually when they r testing it I've been upset or worked up so its tended to bump it up xx
