8+1 creamy light brown discharge......terrified, advice please?

So I just went to the toilet and when I wiped I got some creamy light brown discharge.

I'm terrified that I am going to miscarry. I have pcos and have been ttc for two and a half years.

I don't have any pain or cramping. Not many pregnancy symptoms except sore boobs and creamy white discharge up to now!

Do you have someone there for moral support? Bleeding can be fairly common in early pregnancy, I had some mild spotting from time to time. The fact that you aren't cramping is a good sign I'm sure.

Someone with more experience will be along with more practical advice, I didn't want to read and run and wanted to bump your thread x

Unless it's bright red and you have pain please don't worry. It could be old implantation bleeding, just take it easy today.

Op I had the same from around 7-9 weeks its was more like brown stringy stuff (sorry if tmi) was told not to worry and it's now gone. Hope all ok x

Thanks for the responses. There has only been a tiny bit since as if it is trailing off, it was snotty very light brown like the very start of AF but even lighter in colour.

Still no pains. Though this morning I was getting up from kneeling on the floor and got up too fast and at an awkward angle and hurt myself in my previous c section scar it felt like a pulled muscle. I am wondering if that caused it.

I just feel so down, I can't face ttc again if this doesn't work out. I just wish today was over so I could find out if it will get better or worse.

I have a scan coming up on Thursday, if I make it tat long.

It's starting to turn into pink blood. Still no cramps though!

What will I do......

I thought it was finished but went to toilet and there is a little pink of pink.

I don't like where this is going.

I think I'm going to loose it.

I had brown stringy stuff at 5+5, which scared the crap out of me. The GP surgery nurse told me (rather in uncompassionately) to bide my time.

Thankfully it stopped within 5 hrs and I've had no more.

When I saw GP the next day (happened to have appointment booked thankfully) he enquiries whether we'd had sex the day of the spotting. We had. Well the night before.
Apparently in pregnancy you can have a friable cervix which can bleed when damaged / knocked (apparently DtD will do that).

It might be that... But please get checked out or you'll go crazy

This happened to me 3 times early in my last pregnancy (DS born safely!) Scared the life out of me though/ I also have PCOS and had just had an operation to fix Ashermans (after TTC for 4 years!). It was just a bit of breakthrough bleeding- lovely nurse in the Early Pregnancy Unit was great and gave me a scan each time! Is there an EPU in your hospital you could go to?

I was told if it's bright red then worry. If not that's not that uncommon.

I also had smooth caramel coloured discharge in the early weeks - it was very bizarre. I also had some spotting (pink and brown) at 7 weeks and again at 10 weeks but the baby was absolutely fine on both occasions. How heavy is it? Are you requiring liners or is it just when you wipe?

I rang the hospital and was told to come up to maternity ward. So waiting here now to be seen and am terrified. Can hear women screaming all over!

OP I had the exact same thing at 6 weeks and was petrified as I'd had a MC 3 months previously (although when I had the mc it was definite blood and not the beige creamy discharge).

Anyway, in my case all was well and I'm now 30 weeks pregnant. Hope they can reassure you and that all is well.

Oh OP, really feel for you. Hope it is good news.

I have PCOS and had bleeding like yours on and off during the first trimester during both pregnancies.

Fingers crossed.

I'm just waiting now to go in for the scan I'm terrified.

I guess I will know the outcome shortly.

But they keep coming and asking about how much I'm bleeding in front of everyone in the waiting room, so I'm mortified!

That isn't very sensitive of the staff...

Try not to think about the other people there. Assumedly they are there for similar reasons.

A short while and "you'll know", which should be better than dreading and not knowing.

Well they performed a transvaginal scan and they could not see anything at all. They said that it could be one of three things....

The pregnancy didnt develop
It's too early
Or that it was simply their lack of ability doing the scan as its not their area or something.

So they took blood and will ring me in the morning with the result.

But it is not looking good is it? They should be able to see something on the scan at 8 weeks, especially when it is transvaginal??

I'm just trying to accept that there is no hop. I'm devastated, we were trying for such a long time I just can't imagine going through all that again. My heart is in pieces.

Please don't lose hope yet. If you ovulated later than you realised (and other factors) then your dates could be out by a week or two. They probably arent as experienced as the early pregnancy unit nurses are so dont think the worst yet - I know thats easy for me to say x
