Since Sunday I've had odd pains in right hand side. Tonight they've woken me up as a sharper and more intense. I'm staying away from home closer to work tonight with a lovely friend. I just had to wake my friend up because I couldn't sleep. We rang out of hours doctor - they've said I'll need an appointment within 2hrs and are calling me back. It feels fairly high up my abdomen and I'm concerned its just trapped wind and if only me I'd have waited til morning but I'm 14 weeks and would never forgive myself if I didn't act quickly and something happened to the baby. Feel so bad for waking my friend though.

get checked.

and don't feel bad.

would you be annoyed with her if it was other way round?
no. you'd tell her not to be silly and would take her to the doctors if needed.
that's what friends are for!

I hope it's nothing. you get weird pains from time to time when pg, but if you are worried don't hesitate to seek help.

good luck

I once went to A&E in the middle of the night because I had woken up with pains (I'd just found out I was pregnant). The doctor said that if pain is bad enough to wake you up then it is always worth getting it checked out.
Good luck - hope you don't have to wait too long.

How far along are you? could it be baby stretching ribs?

ClearlyMoo · 13/11/2013 08:45

Hi all

Out of hrs GP said it is musculoskeletal as its only when I move (even if only a fraction).

I couldn't produce a urine sample (white coat syndrome) so he couldn't rule out UTI.

Managed to get plenty of sleep on return from Drs.

Will make appointment with own GP today

clearly

you should ask for a few urine sample pots to take home with you.
so for next app you will be prepared.
I find having to provide a sample at the hospital/GP so stressful and complicated (esp when you have younger kids with you) so I always take a bunch of pots.
they don't mind, if you ask.

Thanks for the hint about the pots, will try and get some tomorrow... I'm home tonight and shattered. DH seems distant. I asked him if the events of last night (I was away from home) had worried him. He said he wasn't worried. I then asked what we'd have done if I was home - if he'd have taken me to out of hours GP.. He said he wasn't sure. I can't work out if he IS worried and trying to not show it or really doesn't care that I was seeking emergency health care for abdominal pain at 4am!

Frustrated!! Anyway seeing my GP tomorrow. I still have the pain!
