anyone else ravenous in their last weeks?
38 weeks Wednesday and im sooooo hungry.
unfortunately all I want is junk and carbs.
I have fruit in the kitchen but I reach for the carbs and junk everytime.
its a combination of baby having dropped, boredom and being fed up.
my weakness is great chunks of cheese, crisps, pizza and kitkats!
am I the only one?
if you have turned into a human waste disposal unit what is your poison?

justamouse · 11/11/2013 19:36

Yes! Also, instead of nesting, I seem to be baking. It was flapjack twenty minutes ago. Just waiting for it to cool so I can tuck in.
My poison seems to be ham and cheese toasties with mustard, double deckers and whatever i can make out of the butter, sugar and flour I can find in the house.

YBR · 11/11/2013 19:45

Yep me too, despite horrid indigestion I seem to be bereft of any self-control in the junk food department.

SadPander · 11/11/2013 20:47

Yes I'm totaly with you on this. Unfortunately only 34 weeks though so trying to exercise some self control or I will be the size of a house! Anything carby - slice after slice of toast, cake, chocolate, crisps. Basically if its not healthy, I want it!

Stom91 · 11/11/2013 21:55

I've been craving ham and cheese toasties for so long but I don't have a toastie maker. Gutted oh and waffles. I want waffles with cream and sauce! And Yorkshire puddings and gravy! Haha

TwoTearsInABucket · 11/11/2013 22:56

Yep, eating like a pig. Bread and cheese mostly. Sometimes I might put a bit of salad in my sarnie!

stom you don't need a toastie maker, just a frying pan! Butter the outside of the bread, put cheese and ham inside. Put into hot frying pan and turn heat to medium. You might want to put a tiny bit of oil in the pan. Flip after about a minute or two, when one side is golden. When you do the other side, put a lid on the pan to help melt the cheese.

Not that I am encouraging you or anything ...

Anuth

Inglori0us · 11/11/2013 23:14

TwoTears you are such an Enabler. Grin I know what I'm having for (first) breakfast. I was having banana and fat free yoghurt for second breakfast, but now in having Frosties.

Thisisfreakingmeout · 11/11/2013 23:15

Sorry! Anything potato related this way please. Deep fried? Even better.

TwoTearsInABucket · 11/11/2013 23:19

Heh heh heh.
I am happy to be of assistance in all things cheesy.

Inglori0us · 11/11/2013 23:26

I'm still stuffing Stilton into my face since finding out it's now allowed. Definitely wasn't sanctioned during my last pregnancy so I used to melt a whole block in a saucepan and eat it with a spoon.

urtwistingmymelonman · 12/11/2013 05:38

stilton is now allowed?
why has nobody told me?
what fresh hell is this?!

Inglori0us · 12/11/2013 07:21

It's now on the Nhs guidelines! I found out this week in another thread.

www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/are-hard-cheeses-safe-to-eat-during-pregnancy.aspx

Still can't gave Gorgonzola or Danish Blue, but Stilton is Go Go Go!! Hoorah!

Mogz · 12/11/2013 07:35

37+1 and I want to eat EVERYTHING! But then I get sad because baby is taking up so much room I can't mange much more than half a sandwich at any one sitting, or the dreaded acid reflux kicks in and I have to go puke Sad I just wanna tuck in to an all you can eat Chinese buffet for a few hours!

TwoTearsInABucket · 12/11/2013 09:39

i had bran flakes and raisins for breakfast this morning. I got instant heartburn. I knew I should have had cheese.

Inglori0us · 12/11/2013 10:11

Same here TwoTears. I had half a wholemeal bagel and then a grapefruit. Heartburn. Should've had the cheese toastie. Expecting to be hungry like the wolf by 11am.

I am a bit worried about the amount I'm eating. I gained 3.5 stone last time and swore I wouldn't do it again. I'm eating a shed load of fruit & veg, but also pizza.

justamouse · 12/11/2013 10:17

I ate my very healthy porridge at 7am this morning. Now I'm at work, at my desk and I've already eaten my lunch sandwich (cheese and ham and tomatoes) banana, satsumer, grapes and carrot sticks. I'm already thinking about a flapjack with cream poured over it. This thought will torture me now. There is a tuck shop less than 100 meters away...they sell double deckers.
I've planned tofu and noodles for dinner, but the problem I have is I eat loads in the morning and I'm either not hungry or can't physically fit any food in during the afternoon and evening.

TwoTearsInABucket · 12/11/2013 11:57

inglori0us - so, what did you eat at 11am?! Its bread that gets me the burn and I eat it anyway. I think I have put on about a stone and a half this time, but I am trying not to think about it till after the baby is born. DH keeps saying that I shouldn't eat too much. So I keep saying shut up.

justamouse - I don't think its necessarily a bad thing not to eat in the evening. Perhaps tomorrow you could take your lunch and your dinner. Have your lunch as a snack and then dinner as lunch and then not eat later? You are eating very healthily though - well done!

Inglori0us · 12/11/2013 12:04

I had a slice of marmite on toast, tea and 8 Lindors at 11.15.

Stom91 · 12/11/2013 12:25

two thanks for the tip! Worked a treat just had the best cheese toastie ever!! I didn't know what was possible lol been craving all the way though and I'm 34 weeks now! Haha

justamouse · 12/11/2013 13:30

twotears i walked home at lunch time and ate a flapjack with cream poured over it and then a cheese and ham toasty. Blush
I like your lunch/dinner idea.

TwoTearsInABucket · 12/11/2013 13:33

stom glad to be of service! They are delicious like that, yummmmmm.

I've just had something slightly ridiculous to eat. Fried pastry coated in cinnamon sugar Shock I had some leftover pastry and it can't go to waste. Well it probably should have.

justamouse · 12/11/2013 13:37

Mmmm, pastry. I've got croissants in the freezer....
twotears have you ever been told you are a bad influence?! Grin

TwoTearsInABucket · 12/11/2013 13:41

I am spreading the love. As long as its fried Grin

I thought I was having the early beginnings of labour while I was eating the pastry. It didn't stop me though. Thank goodness the tightenings have died down now.

see justamouse now you've got me thinking about ham and cheese croissants!

justamouse · 12/11/2013 13:46

Yes, the labour can wait, you get those pastries eaten first. You'd only need the energy anyway!

SaucyJack · 12/11/2013 14:49

I bought FOUR different varieties of vegetarian pies in Sainsbog's yesterday, and I am making it this week's mission to decide which is the tastiest.

Even DP was impressed.
