Ugh, I hate housework (as does work-from-home DH) and consequently, our house is not very clean. Don't get me wrong, it's clean enough for everyday life for us, but we don't dust and wipe walls, skirting boards etc!!

Am 24 weeks now and recently have been looking around the house thinking "yeurch, this needs to be done before s/he arrives". But still can't muster the energy etc to actually get cleaning.

I've got a friend who is itching to come and clean with me (she's anal about cleaning and housework!) and have heard that women do get the instinct to clean in their pregnancy, but can anyone share their stories?!

Am kind of swaying between feeling grubby and wanting to get clean and feeling apathy because I really can't be @rsed!!!!

on one memorable incident i was in floods of tears at 1am in the bedroom, having spent all day scrubbing and reorganising all the furniture, as i was too knackered to clean any more and i was convinced if i didn't disinfect the skirting boards the Public Health Nurse would take my baby away because we lived in filth

was about 38 weeks at the time and had dd at 39 weeks

tend to be a bit nety all through pregnancy though, dp goes out of the house and comes back a few hours later to find i've moved all the furniture or something!

Real but IME it was a last minute thing before I went into labour!

Real for me, and from about 24 weeks I think. I was much worse this time, but I don't know how much was down to having a homebirth and wanting it to be "ready" iyswim.

Slightly off topic - DD hated the hoover from day one (rarely used in pregnancy)... DS has no issue with it at all, and I used it constantly
