It's only started over the weekend and I had my whooping cough and flu jabs on Friday so might be related? Both arms are visibly swollen where needles went in and both still sore. No fever or sickness.

It's not an itchy feeling ( though do have that on my belly) it is just any fabric touching my skin is intensely irritating. Maybe described as skin crawling feeling. It's too cold to be naked and I have to sit or lie somewhere. Even my favourite high thread count v smooth bedding is creepy. I got 2 hours sleep last night and I'm so tired and cranky today. Please someone tell me this happened to them and they know what could fix it. I've had 4 showers today as temporary relief!

( I have to nip out for an hour, in case anyone replies... Ill be back!)

I occasionally get this sort of thing but not to the same extreme, normally just changing into my comfiest pj's is enough.

Cluthing at straws but maybe some paracetamol will help dull the sensation?

Personally i would phone the gp as they may be able to prescribe some cream or something that can help.

Yeah I get it :-( it's normally my legs ... And it usually starts at about 4pm onwards!! Feel like my skin is crawling and anything touching my legs just makes me wanna shake whatever it is off! It's almost like an itch but I hardly scratch ... And I only get relief when I'm in the bath. Sometimes it keeps me awake at night but then other times I manage to sleep through it!
It's horrible tho - I hate it and totally feel your pain!!! :-(

Ill maybe give the dr a call in the am. I thought it might be a reaction to the jab- its like I expect to see a rash all over my body! Still only red at the needle areas.

I hate baths but will actually give one a go later to see if it helps!

Thanks for your replies.

Oh gosh I'm in bed and literally can't keep still cos of the skin crawling feeling :-( I can't be dealing with this all night!!!
Apart from bath/showers, does anyone have any suggestions on how to soothe this god awful feeling?!

Bluecarrot · 11/11/2013 11:07

Bath didn't help as the bathmat was annoying so I moved onto e45 cream which helped a bit! Would have been nicer if DP had been home to do it for me! Then I told myself the e45 was a barrier and I couldn't feel the fabric ( hoping for placebo effect) it worked a little bit.

I have to pick up a prescription later (unrelated) so will speak to the chemist. I can't get a dr apt for a week.
