If you had a planned section for first dc did you get a choice how second was born?

Wondering about this.

First baby was breech and had a planned section.

Would I get a choice for second baby or would it be presumed I would have normal delivery unless it was breech again?

My own experience which is not up to date is that I was allowed a trial of labour for the second baby. They wanted me in the main hospital with all the facilities close by rather than at the local birthing centre though, and I was warned that I would be transferred by ambulance if I tried to do things differently.

I had a section with my first for the same reason as you.
Had my second 16 weeks ago, and I opted for an elective c section. Consultant asked me what I wanted to do, but I did have other complications with really high blood pressure.
I think it depends on the consultant. I've heard various stories with friends having to persuade their docs to give them another c section, but I had no problems.
You are perfectly entitled to request which ever route of delivery you would prefer, but be ready with good reasons. I was concerned about uterine rupture if I attempted a vbac, and I discussed this with my midwife and consultant.

DS1 was breech 8 years ago. I had a CS and the consultant found I had a heart shaped uterus and he was stuck in one side.

DS2 is now 3.5yo, I had a choice with him because he was smaller than ds1 and had managed to turn. I had surgery on a broken ankle at 34 weeks and desperately wanted to avoid another CS because the recovery coupled with being on crutches would have been a nightmare.

Luckily, it all worked out well and I had a VBAC for ds2. It was night and day in terms of recovery for me, but everyone is different.

I got offered the choice. My first was due to dd being in distress so no reason why I can't do natural this time but everyone has actually assumed I would have c section and I had no problems in asking for one. It was clearly a case of being able to have one as I had one before but they would not have stopped me trying for vbac. Greatly varies hospital to hospital I think.

I had a CS with DS1 after being in hospital for 4 days while they attempted to induce me at 38 weeks (for medical reasons). I got pregnant 6 months later and was asked what I wanted - so I asked for a CS without the 4 days hanging around beforehand and they didn't try and make me change my mind. I had no issues post surgery and needed very little in the way of painkillers, particularly second time around but I know that's not been the case for some of my friends.

I had an elcs with dd 3.5 years ago and plan to do the same with current.
