NCT Refresher course for 2nd baby

Hi All

Just wondering if anyone has been to NCT Refresher classes for Mums pregnant with second babies? Were they useful?

I'm 29 weeks with my second baby. I went to NCT classes when pregnant with my DD. Whilst I found the content fairly useful, I benefitted most from making some good friends with other ladies going though labour, birth and those new born first few weeks at the same time as me.
I'm still friends with them but none are pregnant at the same time and I'm slightly worried I'll feel isolated.
Anyway would like to hear if anyone has been and thought they were worth it/waste of money.
Thanks

Too expensive for me to go again!

Yes. Finished last week.

It was very useful in terms of being time out to think about the baby and how to prepare the older sibling. It had a very different atmosphere given we had all been through birth once - much grittier Wink

Fantastic group too which is lovely.

Overall I would recommend it more than the first time!

Thanks for the feedback. I did think they are expensive to do again, especially when I know what happens now!
It would be good to have some time to concentrate on the baby though (and me?!) as life it's completely centred around my 2 year old at the moment. And a grittier atmosphere sounds better than the politely naïve approach we all had before.
Thanks for the recommendation Metella.

I'm 18wks with my second and also thinking about doing this course. I didn't do the first time round as we relocated shortly after the birth and it didn't seem worth it.

Can I be really cheeky and ask you to report back when you've been? :) there's one in Jan in thinking of going on, mainly to meet other mums.

I've checked when the classes are and hubby's away for the first one so I'll have no one to look after DD, arrrr! Not sure it's worth spending the money now :(
I've tried to get on the NHS refresher course but they're over subscribed so unlikely to fit me in.
If I do end up going I will definitely report back Misty.

I feel the same but unfortunately there's no refresher courses near me. Nearest is 45 mins drive away and the main reason I want to do it is to meet local people in the same situation, who I can spend time with when the baby comes.

Quite worried now that I'm going to be a Billy No Mates with a 2yo and a newborn. Shit.

Same here!
I'm already stressed about how I'm going to cope with a new born and a 2 year old. It would be so much nicer to meet some people who are in the same situation at the same time.
I know NCT don't do Refresher courses in all areas so maybe I should miss the first one and go to the rest as I'm lucky they do them near me.
