40+3 today and I know people go much further over their due date but I am getting soo impatient. I've had the odd twinge and lots of tightenings which I think are contractions but they are yet to cross from their current phase of extremely uncomfortable and change to painful. Am having stabbing pains up my bits tho, feels like I could be dilating etc just waiting for things to progress but they're just not! All this seems to happen in the evenings too.

Also I am worrying about being very late as the placenta has done it's job now etc, is there anything I should be looking out for or need to be conscious of?? I was only a day late with my son so I'm heading into new territory...thanks ladies

Hi tru! I'm in the same position as you 40+3 due my 2nd sweep tomorrow so hopefully that gets things moving - every niggle or pain I'm scrutinising thinking THIS IS IT, to be sadly mistaken, hopefully things move on for us soon! Have you had a sweep? When's your next MW appt? I'm booking my induction tomorrow too, hopefully it doesn't come to that!! Xx

Also fed up now - only 40+1 but the thought of another week making me fed up. Terrible nights sleep not helping!

Morning ladies, I haven't had a sweep yet and last saw midwife at 38+3 she just said see u when baby has arrived! I do have an appt tomorrow afternoon with my consultant to check me over and think they will offer a sweep then. Would u recommend a sweep, never needed it with my son?

To be fair I have slept fantastically throughout this pregnancy even now having to get up for several toilets trips through the night I'm not struggling to nod back off, completely opposite to last time.

I had had a few 'this is it' evenings but it's never progressed, I was so sure this little one would be early, got that a bit wrong didn't i?! Lol

Hopefully we'll be having newborn snuggles soon, starting to think my Moses basket is just rubbing it in, sitting at the side of our bed all empty!!! Lol x

I have a midwife appt tomorrow and she said she could try a sweep. Will probably say yes. Had a couple of this is it moments last night but sadly it wasn't! Hope things start moving for you soon!
