Indigestion help

WhisperMen · 03/11/2013 13:12

I am 33 + 3 weeks. I have really bad indigestion today.I have taken two rantidine (or however you spell it) and it's not helped. It isn't heartburn or acidy, it just feels like I have food stuck at the bottom of my throat. If I burp it feels better for a few seconds.

Anyone got any remedies seeing as I have taken all the medicine I can today and am feeling rubbish.

I don't think it's trapped wind kringle I've had that before and this is much different. I'll give it a go though just incase it is.

I now have a pain where I presume my heart is and my left arm feels tingly and my armpit hurts. Called my Dad and he is coming round to sit with me and take me to hospital if needs be as DP is working until 5.

They are really going to think that my Sunday evening entertainment is going to the labour ward if I end up going in. Bloody pregnancy. I hate hospitals Sad

ok just a few more symptoms

swelling of feet, face hands
confusion
shortness of breath
abdominal pain
shoulder pain
dizziness
disturbed vision

etc.

KringleCandleLover · 03/11/2013 15:15

Hope all is ok. Try not to panic xx

ZingWantsCake · 03/11/2013 15:15

also

racing pulse
heightened sense of anxiety
chest pain

WhisperMen · 03/11/2013 15:17

I don't have any swelling and wouldn't say I was confused. not really got any abdominal pain, other than from baby jabbing me whilst wriggling. slight dizziness and my left shoulder hurts.

I'm having a glass of water to see if I am just dehydrated and that's what is causing the now present headache and weird feeling.

OP posts:
ZingWantsCake · 03/11/2013 15:18

sorry, I'm only posting symptoms in case you didn't think any of these could be a sign

again, I don't mean to scare you as such, sorry.

if the MW don't call you back in the next 15 mins call again and explain new symptoms of arm tingling and pain.
don't wait too long

(hugs)

remember you and baby will be ok!

ZingWantsCake · 03/11/2013 15:20

shoulder pain is definitely a sign of pre-eclampsia.

together with the other things I strongly suggest you go to the hospital now.
your DH can catch up.
You need to be seen asap.

WhisperMen · 03/11/2013 15:24

Midwife has called back and told me to come in so I'm just waiting for my Dad to get here so I can get a lift as I don't think I can walk there.

Thankyou for looking out for me zing you lovely human. I shall keep you updates

OP posts:
ZingWantsCake · 03/11/2013 15:26

excellent!
sorry for bullying you!

yes, update me if you are able to.
I won't worry much as I know you'll be treated and in good hands, but I'd love to know how you are.

good luck.

WhisperMen · 03/11/2013 15:29

sometimes I need bullying zing especially when it comes to hospitals. They always want to take blood and I am petrified of needles and have useless veins so it's always a bit traumatic. I just have to think it's not for me, it's for my little peanut and how bad I would feel if anything happened to it just because I was too wimpy to go get checked.

OP posts:
ZingWantsCake · 03/11/2013 15:34

I hate needles too!

I always ask them to countdown and then jab, so I can steel my nerves and be prepared.
I had a traumatic blood taking experience when I was 15.
I tried to fight it by giving blood when I was 22. I think it helped.
I had a bunch if kids so had my more than fair share of bloid tests!Wink

is this your first baby?

ZingWantsCake · 03/11/2013 15:35

maybe they can try from back of your hand. skin is thinner there

Bumbez · 03/11/2013 15:41

Midwife here, I'm glad you're being checked over :)

WhisperMen · 03/11/2013 16:01

yeah it's my first baby.

last time I went to the ward because of reduced movement I came over all dizzy and they wanted blood and ended up having to take it out of my wrist with a syringe because my veins just refuse to co-operate.

I just feel like I'm wasting everyone's time going to the hospital. There will be nothing wrong again and I will be sent home and feel stupid Sad

OP posts:
ZingWantsCake · 03/11/2013 16:17

do not feel bad or guilty for "wasting time" - because you don't waste time, you are concerned about the health of baby and yourself.
you are not stupid.

your safety is paramount, if you had to go back everyday than that's what it is!

MWs know that more than anyone else.

I took DS2 once to A&E at night, convinced he had meningitis.
thankfully I was wrong, it was only tonsillitis, but the stiff-ish neck (from pain) and aversion to light (coz of fever) scared the shit out of me!

the nurse said I did the right thing.
my kid, my responsibility.

then there was a time when DS4 was coughing weirdly (@9 months old).
I had no idea what it could be but it felt wrong.
he had Krupp and was given steroids because his Oxygen level was below normal (84% I think) and kept in overnight.
My gut was right.

I don't doubt my gut feeling anymore, even if I turn out to have jumped the gun. I'd rather apologise then be too late.

Let's hope it's nothing serious, but I'm really glad you are on your way!
(sorry for long post)

WhisperMen · 03/11/2013 16:25

I have just been put on a bed by the MW and put on the monitor things for baby even though it's been moving fine. Had my blood pressure taken and it was higher than normal. Had a urine sample taken, and now have to wait. It's super busy on the ward, so MW said it might be a while. She told me off for saying it was probably nothing and said I could come in twice a day every day until I give birth and they wouldn't mind because it keeps my stress levels down.

I can hear a woman giving birth.

ZingWantsCake · 03/11/2013 16:32

see, I told you! bless her for reassuring you!

is your dad with you? I'm around if you are bored Wink

WhisperMen · 03/11/2013 16:37

nah my Dad had to go as he is playing a gig. DP finishes at 5 so will probably go home for some dinner and then come up. I packed a bag just incase I have to stay, but I forgot to bring anything useful. I do have last weeks newspaper and only one slipper.

OP posts:
ZingWantsCake · 03/11/2013 16:59

one slipper? hmm, that's not very useful! Grin

ZingWantsCake · 03/11/2013 16:59

tell him to get the other slipper and your phone charger!

I'm up till late, in case you need me!Wink

WhisperMen · 03/11/2013 17:10

I don't know why I only packed one slipper. pregnancy brain is weird.

apparently there is some protein in my wee so have to have bloodsSad I have been given some lovely codeine for my headache though. Grin

OP posts:
ZingWantsCake · 03/11/2013 18:00

WhisperMen · 03/11/2013 18:41

OP posts:
ZingWantsCake · 03/11/2013 18:45

ZingWantsCake · 03/11/2013 18:46

I meant how long are they going to keep you in?
