I have a very painful lump about 2 1/2 inches long right at the side of my lady bits where my pants rub.

It's not purple. Just a big lump. Very painful to touch and very painful to walk anywhere or to sit in one place for too long.

Is it a varicose vein or cyst and for the love of god what I can do to help it go away?!

Spoke with pharmacist who didn't have any advice atall!!

I've had both! I'm an expert!
it could be a bartholin cyst ( bloody hurts) but usually on the labia.
I've also a vv in my v! which I first though was a prolapse or something, found it bulging out of my v but not really caused any pain. ( I know they can be very painful though for some people)
You prob need to get it checked out anyway. my Dr put me on antibiots for the cyst last pregnancy but you can't do much for a varicous vein but I was assured they get better after birth!

check bartholin cyst on Google and you can compare its location. x

Really?

Difficult to get a gp appt quickly, wonder if nhs24 would be the way to go. I am in pain, but hate using nhs24 unless it's really urgent!

Oh yes, its the weekend :-(
Out of hours gp tomorrow?
I think the main thing with it immediately is the pain.
can you try a hot bath or salt bath to try and bring down the swelling for tonight at least?

minimuffy · 02/11/2013 20:52

No ooh gp here, in Scotland so it's nhs 24, a+e or nothing! Will try nhs24 later. Oh the joys of being pregnant!!

vulval cyst (hope youre not eating when you read that...)

quite funny when after describing what the issue was to the doc , he asks 'any chance youre pregnant?'

im 34 weeks! how could he not notice that!!

it's now started leaking a wee bit, so im guessing that the anti-b's are starting to work?
