Got good plans for my day off next week (taking ds to circus!) but it's an hours drive after my shots.

Ill be ok right? Smile

I was fine, had mine at lunchtime (one in each arm) then went back and worked another 7 hours! Apart from what felt like a bruise at the site of the WC injection I didn't have any symptoms or side effects at all.

Shroomboom · 30/10/2013 20:51

You should be fine for the rest of that day. I had the flu jab yesterday and felt okay afterwards, but have not been great today. I still feel nauseous and very tired anyway, so the flu jab on top of that hasn't helped I don't think.
Enjoy the circus!

Anothermrssmith · 30/10/2013 20:55

I have a flu jab every year because I'm diabetic and found the first year I had it I felt really run down and flu-ish for a day or two after, however it wasn't straight away it was a day or two later it kicked in. Not everyone gets that though and certainly now all I get is a sore arm.

Not had my whooping cough one yet but hoping a sore arm will be the worst of it.

Jellybellyrbest · 30/10/2013 20:56

Nope-sore arm. That's it!

ZenNudist · 30/10/2013 21:05

Good news so far. I don't want to be nervous about driving so pleased that I might only start to feel bad the next day Smile

I was fine. Bit of a sore arm but not enough to stop me doing anything.

blondebaby111 · 30/10/2013 21:29

I have only had the flu jab (I've got to book my whooping cough one) but I felt totally fine although like you I was very apprehensive, feeling abit unsure of the whooping one but hey it has to be done, enjoy your busy week x

Hi, I'm 14 weeks pregnant and have annoying acquired a cold, cough and sore throat this week. I have my flu jab booked in for Monday - hopefully I will be a bit better by then with restful weekend but if I'm not should I cancel it? Thanks for replies in advance

ChairOfTheBored · 31/10/2013 16:29

I had my flu jab three weeks ago -was fine on the day, and had a mild headache the next day (most likely entirely coincidental).

Have had WC jab today, arm is a bit tender, but am feeling fine. Though that is absolutely NOT what I'll be telling DH, with him I shall big up the martyr.

Julietee · 31/10/2013 16:52

If you do rest assured it's because of an immune response rather than because the injections are giving you mild flu or anything like that. Actually, the stronger you react to the shots the stronger your immune response, so it might feel bad for a bit but it's good!

TobyLerone · 31/10/2013 18:56

The injection cannot give you flu/symptoms because it's not a live vaccine.

I didn't feel sh*t BUT my arm ached for 2-3 days!!! I couldn't lift it much above my shoulder or lie on it on my side. It wasn't that bad but just annoying! Flu job was in the other arm and was fine, the whooping cough one was definitely worse.

NickysMam · 31/10/2013 19:08

I even forgot I had mine today. I expected to be under the weather, but I'm totally fine. My arm was sore after but now I don't feel a thing. But going from other responses I'll hold off on the celebrations until tomorrow

I hope the whooping cough immunisation is the same.

I had them last week and woke up the first night with fever symptoms like shivers and high temperature, but then I woke up next day and just felt tired. I also had an achy arm for a few days.

NickysMam · 31/10/2013 19:09

I swear after I sent that my arm started hurting me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

curlywurlyllass · 31/10/2013 21:49

Flu jab site was sore for a few days afterwards but didnt stop me doing anything (was floored with flu type bug 10days later tho)

Just had my WC jab today and drove for 3hrs afterwards. Jab site is a bit tender but so far thats all

Hope you enjoy the circus :)
