I AM EATING EVERYTHING!

im almost 10 weeks and dont suffer too badly with nausea until around lunchtime. i still eat a proper evening meal but every morning i am absolutely starving!

i cant decide if its down to a 30ish min brisk walk i do before breakfast or pregnancy or greed.

this morning i have had a bowl of porridge an apple and a lump of cheese and my stomach is growling.

normal? or fat slag?

Normal, completely normal. Keep a pack of biscuits or dried fruit in your bedside table for first thing in the morning snacking, and just keep eating healthy things when you get more hunger pangs. And lots of water, that should help you feel full.

Julietee · 30/10/2013 11:17

Tbh, that doesn't even sound like a lot to me!
I was starving in my first trimester.
Eat when you want and how much you want and don't feel guilty about it.

SinisterSal · 30/10/2013 11:18

Eat if you're hungry, I am the same and i don't feel one bit bad about it

PinkParsnips · 30/10/2013 11:24

Oh yes, I remember it well! Eating two lunches every day its a horrible gnawing hunger like nothing else isn't it. It does pass though in a few weeks so just eat what you need for now.

PrincessKitKat · 30/10/2013 11:32

Normal! I could polish off a days calories by 11am in first tri. Insatiable appetite.

The hunger has come back a couple of times when the bumps had a growth spurt too.

Inglori0us · 30/10/2013 11:39

Double breakfast. It's the only way.
I'm considering having lunch now.

Suzietwo · 30/10/2013 11:43

thats very good to know! thank you.

with my previous pregnancies i gained 4-5 stone each time and i really dont want to do that again, hence trying to contain myself.

Try to keep your exercise levels up a bit if you're concerned about the weight gain, nice gentle strolls and some swimming. I've all but given up now with 5 weeks to go as I'm ravenous all the time but can't eat huge meals, so I'm constantly snacking. I've polished off 4 Eccles cakes, 2 bananas, a bowl of cereal, some dried strawberries, a yoghurt and I'm just about to see what's available for lunch. I fancy cheesy beans on toast. Mmmmmm!

clairesmiles · 31/10/2013 17:01

I did think this was normal but i'm so glad to see everyone agreeing.

I'm about 7 weeks, only just found out and i am STARVING all the time!!! I've only told OH as well, so people must think im crazy!

To be honest i've only had it a short while and it's driving me mad already, before i was pregnant i hated feeling hungry so this is real torture for me lol!

I hope it goes soon, but i know its all going to be worth it in the end :)

I am starving ALL the time, today so far i've had 2 breakfasts (bagel with cream cheese and bacon, yoghurt with raspberries and oats an hour later) 2 lunches (thai curry, then a sandwich 2 hours later) and i am already ready for more!! i'll be a moving mountain by the time i give birth at this rate!
i'm actually going to cop on from tomorrrow onwarads, i swore i wouldnt gain more than 25 lbs. I've gained 7 already and i'm only 7 weeks- haha!

peeapod · 31/10/2013 17:59

being starving makes feeling sick worse. i cant get out of bed now without eating something and i struggle to have enough energy to get out and do much before 12. im getting better though.. i just try and fill up in the morning as best i can.. ironically iv actually lost weight in the first tri.

LadyMedea · 31/10/2013 22:47

Ah yes I remember the day of the three breakfasts Wink

MummyLuce · 31/10/2013 23:08

Eat what you need to. I ate two lunches and loads and loads of snacks in first trimester as was starrrrrving all the time and I lost 2lb! And no, I wasn't sick at all! Clearly my body was really using those extra calories.

CiderwithBuda · 31/10/2013 23:25

Normal. I used to have to have 3 weetabix as soon as I woke up and then would have another breakfast later.

MummyPig24 · 01/11/2013 15:16

After my nausea subsided around 14 weeks I found I was ravenous, and if I didn't eat I felt sick again. Now I'm 20+6 and eating normally again!

eggsnbeans · 02/11/2013 07:37

Yup me too, since 4 weeks pg too! If I don't eat every hour I feel sick from hunger!!! I'm sure this ones a boy Wink And my belly is already huge!

AnythingNotEverything · 02/11/2013 07:49

I was infill able until about 28 weeks. Two breakfast, mid-morning cheese, big lunches and double afternoon snacks.

Just enjoy it. Baby must need it. Plus I'm exactly the same now I'm breastfeeding Wink

Thank god I found this thread, am 7 weeks tomorrow and can't stop eating, I need to eat every two hours or I start the horrible gurgling sick feeling. Am trying to eat as healthily as possible but I just don't fancy a lot of things, it's carbs all the way for me. Hoping it will settle down in the second trimester or I'll be huge! I thought I was just being a fatty but now I know it's normal I can stop stressing a bit.
