Pains every 5 minutes that don't seem to be going anywhere?

39+1

Yesterday evening ds3 dropped down...really, really low. Within half an hour of noticing, pains started coming every 18-20 mins. A couple of hours later, they'd gone down to 10 mins, sometimes strong, sometimes not so strong.
I thought I'd get an early night as they were the type of pain I could sleep through...and if it's going to happen, it's going to happen, right? Regardless of whether I'm asleep in bed, doing roly polys in the garden or cooking standing on my head.
Had 2 awful, unbreathable pains getting washed and then 30 mins later in bed. Managed to sleep but was pretty uncomfy and slept lightly. Noticed a few pains but not every one.
Woke up at 4.20 this morning (my body clock is buggered this week) and am wide awake again.
Went down for a cuppa and started timing....very periody pains every 5mins probably lasting around a minute. No massive intensity but definitely noticeable, with a peak in the middle.
My lower back has become achy and I noticed my sciatic nerve fire off a couple of random times the other day.

I'm back in bed with a DVD now as I just feel I want to rest all the time. Nesting has left me and I'm not even bothered about the mountain of washing that's gathering. It's almost as though I just want to hide away from everyone.
What's going on?!

Could you be In labour???

BillyGoatintheBuff · 30/10/2013 06:07

well sounds like labour, building up slowly:)

Rhibeetee · 30/10/2013 06:11

I'm hoping it is!

I got a burst of nervous energy last night which was odd. I felt the same as I did on my wedding morning!

This is all brand new to me as I was induced both times before with being 2 weeks over. I'd resigned myself to having another induction!

Sounds like slow labour to me

Good luck x

TobyLerone · 30/10/2013 06:41

This is good to hear. I'm on DC3 and was induced both times at 42 weeks. If they don't make me have an ELCS (yet to be decided), I was just expecting the same -- 2 weeks late, induction, no exciting natural labour :(

So it's heartening to read this :)

Good luck, OP!

Rhibeetee · 30/10/2013 09:16

Had another couple of hours sleep and have woken up to the same discomfort/pain. Going to grab a shower, do dome ironing and make a trip to the shops and see if anything happens.
TobyLerone, I still feel like you have felt....but hopefully we can both go for 3rd time lucky! I refused a c-sec this time but I'm only allowed to go 10 days over before they induce me....

TobyLerone · 30/10/2013 09:35

It's all sounding hopeful for you. Fingers crossed!

sarahleanne · 30/10/2013 10:03

good luck OP.keeping my fingers crossed for you.
I am also on DC3 and having been induced with my previous 2 I am sooo hoping to go naturally this time. Please give me hope :) :)

thistlelicker · 30/10/2013 16:43

Any update ?

Rhibeetee · 30/10/2013 17:43

Sorry ladies...been a busy day!
Still no sign of baby. Pain is a bit more painful but in no pattern now.... Burning period-like pain and an urge to run to the loo...then nothing happens!!
Struggling to sit down if I've stood for a while as feel like the whole of baby boy is sat in my pelvic crease.
It's all very strange and new and I'm not sure what to make of it?!
Any ideas?
I shall keep all my 2 time inducers up to date...hopefully there is hope for all of us?!

still keeping fingers crossed for you OP that you go naturally soon :)

Rhibeetee · 31/10/2013 13:23

Quick update ladies....everything seems to have stopped!
He's still super low and I'm in agony with my hips but other than that, I'm comfy. Grrrr!
My friend swears that 2 big glasses of red set her off into labour so while shopping for Halloween treats for my boys and hubby, I thought I'd buy some and give it a try tonight.

Fingers crossed he stays low enough for a successful sweep on Monday if the vino doesn't tempt him out!!

Grrrr!

Enjoy the wine whatever happens Wine

sarahleanne · 01/11/2013 21:32

any news op?

Rhibeetee · 01/11/2013 21:37

Nope, nothing....
Bit of pink in discharge this morning and pains on and off but nothing too promising.
Bought some evening primrose oil and DH had been ordered to help place them at bedtime.
Trying a couple of glasses of wine too... Why not?
I'm super fed up now.
Even sprinting up the stairs with bags of shopping hasn't helped!
Stubborn little baby boy!

How are you doing?

OP posts:
thistlelicker · 01/11/2013 21:40

Sounds
Like pink discharge was a show !!!

Deffinitely have a glass of wine. Wink

Rhibeetee · 05/11/2013 21:22

For my twice induced ladies...just letting you know, I lost my mucus plug tonight and have been having tightenings for the last 2 hours..... There is hope for us yet

OP posts:
TobyLerone · 05/11/2013 21:27

Rhibeetee · 07/11/2013 20:40

7 hours of contractions, 7 HOURS!!..gradually got down to 7 mins apart and 50 seconds long. Then guess what! They stopped!!

I'm so annoyed, I'm having DHs last can of lager and he can suck a chobber if he's got a problem with it!
