Are they worth buying? I'm getting achy hips from lying on my side already and wondering if a pregnancy pillow would help...?

I have the dream genie but am struggling with getting comfortable on my side as my ears go numb (weird I know!). It is really good apart from that but far too expensive.

They are good (I got a lechco) but they go flat after a while and I could quite cheerfully burn mine now.

I've switched to different thickness of pillows. I have 11 pillows in bed now, it's like a little fort lol.

One thing that has made my life 100000000000x better is a memory foam topper. My hips and shoulders were killing me. Now I LOVE going to bed.

V shaped pillow from ikea 7.50, cover 2.50, nice size, nice squashiness, not too firm, all machine washable at 60', mine helps between kness and support bump, love it! Will be fab as breast feeding support and to support a baby learning to sit. I never got on with proper firm curved bf cushions and just ended up with pillows off sofa/bed etc but can tell this thing will be great for that and is lovely now, all the more as it's such a good price!

I've just found one of kiddicare with 93 reviews topping 4.5 out of 5. It's pricey at £44.99 but I'm only 19 weeks and my hips are aching like a bitch Hmm

I ended up with a 13.5 tog duvet folded on my side of the bed (under the bottom sheet) to sleep on. Made a huge difference to me (and as we already had it, it was free!)

K8eee · 29/10/2013 23:36

Well I've just put a feather duvet between my knees & legs but doesn't seem to be doing much Hmm

I didn't really like sleeping with extra pillows. Maybe try adding spare normal pillows or cheap v pillow from argos first to check how likely you are to get on with geenie

T K Maxx had some them in at the weekend for only £25 so a big saving if you are after one.

I brought a theraline pillow off amazon for £30. It's got little beads in it so adjusts to u really well. Last night I slept in the same position for about 5/6 hours which is a miracle. And then dp was moaning about his shoulder so he nicked it so he could get a few hours sleep too. Just gonna order him one now!!! Oh and u can buy spare covers for them too. Would put link on but can't suss out how to do it on my phone

I also got the dream genii and I find it fantastic. It doesn't eradicate hip pain, but it does make settling easier as it stabilises you front and back. Mine is a couple of months old and still holding good shape - the back bit and top bit have flattened slightly because I lie on my back on the pillow sometimes, which does it no favours!
Actually, I like it so much I just bought a second one - found it at TK Maxx for £24 - bargain.
