Worried I've made a bad decision

Hi, I'm lying awake at ridiculous o clock worrying about this so if anyone has any advice I would be very grateful. I am currently 12 days overdue with dc2 and my local hospital offers inductions between 12 and 14 days. Initially I had one booked for 12 days over, ie today, but when I saw my midwife this week, I decided to delay it until Sunday, when I will be 14 days over. My midwife assured me there was no difference in safety of the baby between 12 and 14 days and said that some hospitals wait til 14 days to book any inductions. My edd was moved forward by a week based on my 12 week scan so I have always felt I would go over on this pregnancy and as I had an easy, natural birth with dd,I felt that waiting those extra 2 days might increase the chance of a similar experience with dc2.

However, even though movements are good (baby is having a good old wriggle as i type) and all my check ups have revealed no problems with me or the baby, I am now panicking that I have put my baby at increased risk and I should have stuck with the induction at 12 days. Help!?!

Talk to your midwife, ask for daily monitoring of movements, ask if you can get an induction before sunday...

Oh Squeeze do try not to worry, your MW is right, the difference between 12 and 14 days when you have a lovely healthy wriggly baby is tiny, but if you are at all worried you can always ask to be monitored and have a chat with the MW to allay your concerns.

Thank you so much for your kind responses. About an hour after I wrote my post it became irrelevant... my waters broke and 3 hours later our little girl was born! She is picture of health and we are totally besotted with her. Thank you again.
