Travel insurance for the pregnant lady...

Dh and I are going for a long weekend in paris with some friends. It's only a Thursday to Monday thing, but I'm trying to find travel insurance that covers you whilst pregnant. I'll be 23/24 weeks so still ok to travel but were taking the Eurostar anyway if anyone knows of any reasonable good companies please let me know!

Most companies seemed to offer insurance when I was ringing around for quotes for my holiday at 28 weeks.
Just find the company you want them give them a quick ring to check they cover - the ones I rang told me as long as I'd had no complications they'd cover me with no issue as standard!

Thanks pineapple! Reading the wording in policies is boggling me no where can I see anything about being pregnant whilst travelling. I'm slowly losing the will to live with all this reading and online form filling

I had booked a few days away before I knew I was pregnant. I got insurance through a firm who's name escapes me right now, but it was whoever Martin money saving expert recommended!!!! When I realised I was pregnant I checked the paperwork and it td me I was covered as standard till 24 weeks.

We have travel insurance with bank account so check yours. We went to Bali at 22w and dh called to check I was covered and I was. Just give them a call if your unsure

Most insurance companies go on the 'pregnancy is not an illness' approach and so will cover you for pregnancy related complications up to a certain point before your due date. THere is no need to tell them that you are pregnant. I have an annual policy with insure and go (great provider if you have existing medical conditions as it's easy to declare and get coverage) and I was covered up to 32 weeks.

We travelled while I was 28weeks and sed American Express which seemed to be the most comprehensive. My memory is a bit rubbish but I seem to remember the main problem was most companies wouldn't cover against prem labour - they'd cover complications while pregnant but not the baby. Which would obv be a very expensive situation to find yourself in especially as you would both be in hospital for a very long time. I actually found that calling them up was helpful and they had all the info for me quickly.
