Hello Ladies

Went for my last consultant and growth scan yesterday. My fundal height has been measuring on 90th percentile. But due to a bmi of 20 and dd having a low birth weight they've been scanning me every 2-4 weeks since 28 weeks!

The growth was great on the 50th percentile until 3 weeks ago when it started to dip, went back yesterday and he's barely grown or gained in two weeks! Was estimated to weigh 2307 (about 5ibs) at 34 + 4 and yesterday was estimated to weigh 2395 (just over 5ibs)

Though i'm happy of his early arrival in a way, feeling like i'm about to burst and lots of strong braxton hicks! I also feel guilty that my body's a bit crap of looking after babies (I've had 5mcs before i had dd)

Sorry just wanted to write down how i'm feeling! Anybody have a similar situation nd can offer some words of wisdom?

hello there. Big hugs to you. I too am shit at carrying babies. I'm a great mum, but before modern science I'd never have got the chance! When I'm not puking, I'm hobbling and when I'm not doing either of those things I'm sleeping - usually wired up to some sort of monitoring device!

Nonetheless, I've given birth (early) to two tiny babies who've grown into robust toddlers - and DH had a vasectomy. I'm done. :)

Good luck for Friday!

You've done a stellar job carrying your baby this far. So you'll be about 35weeks on Friday? And weighing in at around 5lbs it sounds like baby will be nice and healthy when he gets here. He might need a bit of help with some oxygen, but the main thing to focus on is that once he's out your health care team are much better placed to look after him, and you.
Best of luck for Friday Thanks

Thanks ladies:-) They wanted to induce me today, but I asked to wait until the magic 37 weeks which is Friday, which they agreed to as long as i monitor movements closely and go in for monitoring tomorrow:-)

5lb sounds like a nice weight, don't feel guilty, it isn't something you can control so it isn't your fault, my sil had dn at 36 weeks and she was a tiny 4lb now a healthy 9 mo and she is a little chubster now, she was in scbu for 2 weeks and they were brilliant. Good luck for Friday! Thanks

My first was born at 35 weeks she only weighed 4 10

She didn't have to go in scbu and soon gained weight.

She's now a happy healthy 30 year old.

Good luck.

Thanks ladies! Feeling much better about it all today:-) Although i had no sleep got so many things running through my mind!

They tried to give me a sweep on Tuesday which they couldn't do fully as wasn't open enough, though I've been having sharp pains in cervix and spotting pink on and off since!

Will update you all as and when he arrives!!

Don't blame yourself! You are doing all you can. I had an undetected IUGR that was discovered too late. I am so pleased that you are content that action is being taken - good luck to you both for tomorrow. :)

Well he's here and we're home:-) Archie James Bridges was born Friday 25th October at 21:59 after a very fast and stressful induction! Only just arrived at labour ward to deliver and babies heart rate was dropping so scary!!

But he's here now and was a reasonable 5ib 11 oz's in the end, small but not too small for gestation no transitional care of neonatal care needed!

Went to my local mlu for aftercare a couple of days made all the difference feel so much better having had a little sleep before going home:-)

Congratulations! My tiddler was 5lb 10oz and is now a boisterous 3 year old - it's amazing how they grow! :)
